It is scam. Yahoo (insert any company name here, this answer works for all!) do not run an email lottery, if they did you could guarantee it would be advertised all over their home page. Check out these links and search answers to see how many people 'win' the exact same lottery every day

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/lottery_sca...
http://www.hoax-slayer.com/email-lottery-scams.html

Do not click on any links, the page you will be taken to will look authentic but is not
Do not send them a 'courier fee' or any other money
Do not hand over any bank details or passwords

Do report spam
Do delete

Remember there is no such thing as a free lunch. You cannot win a lottery if you haven ot bought a ticket. Anyone can set up an email account with Yahoo, they can use any combination of letters they choose. I could be 'thequeenmother@yahoo.com' or 'disneyfreeticketsgenuine@yahoo.com' That doesn't mean that I am either of these and is fine as long as I don't try to use the address to mislead people. Don't be fooled by legitimate looking email addresses which end the same way as any other free account, don't be fooled by fictitious titles such as 'Dr' or 'Executive Director of Winner Claims'.

(I've answered this question so many times that I now keep this answer on my desktop and just copy and paste....that should give you a clue!)

Yeah there is no British WWW Lottery. The only way to play the national lottery online is to live in the UK and purchase a ticket.

Also no lottery in the world has ever paid out 25 billion dollars.

The British National Lottery is never that high a payout anyway (usually about £5-6million, or about $10-12m US), but any time you have to pay out to claim winnings,it's a scam... perhaps you should write back promising instead to pay them 1% of the prize on receipt instead... see what happens!

It is a scam. Delete that mail and the rest of the future ones. A lot of people get scammed like this by people as far away as Africa and Europe. Dateline NBC has a special about this. I suggest you and everyone else to watch it to get informed about the dangers of online scamming.

Think about this: They want to GIVE you $25 billion dollars, but they don't have the money to pay for the transfer????? Something's not quite right, don't you think?

It's a scam.

If you "win" something, there should not be a charge to YOU! Just think how much money they would have if everyone sent them 500 pounds!?! If it is truly something that you won then they would just take the 500 puonds out of the winnings, wouldn't you think? Don't fall for it!
