It is good that you are asking questions. Keep it up.

Actually, after reading a lot about my old faith before I walked away was when I started to doubt it. Some things have occurred since that have supported my decision. It's normal to doubt even if you go back to believing. Just look at the facts, examine your heart and you'll know what the right thing to do is. (was Catholic now Buddhist). I wish you the best no matter what you decide. Om shanti

Try and let go of the pressure that comes with the need or attachment to have to always figure everything out. You can make conquering your fears a priority and accept that it is okay to not have all the right answers, after all this is the school of life and we are in kinder garden, just taking our first steps toward Bliss. Your mind is yours to question, wonder, imagine, seek, find out a little about all religions, what they offer your heart, and no matter what you decide on, just don't doubt the Power of Love. Breathe deep and practice non-judgment of yourself and others, soon you will be acting as Christ did, and not just defending him.
Peace

No but I'm starting to doubt my faith in humanity.

I take things I read online with a grain of salt. It's good discussion (at times) but not a replacement for face to face discourse and debate. And certainly not grounds to overturn your worldview.

In my "tradition" or path, doubt is encouraged and is an integral part of expanding and growing.

give yourself a pat on the back for being a thinking, progressive and pro-active being.
Doubt will either strengthen your path, or take you to a new one that is better suited to your needs.
Either way, you win.

Our beliefs have been drummed into us from an early age. It is good to start asking questions (as an adult). You may come to the same conclusions, but they will be your ideas...not ones passed down from others.

It is a wondrous world, much to learn, much adventure. It is not good to live in a box filled with fear of the unknown.

"Freedom From the Known" is a great book to acquaint oneself with.

The time for 'thinkers' has come...good for you!

as we age and mature our faith evolves sometimes into one that is entirely different...raised catholic with its fairly strict(at least by my current standards) rules i was philosophically unimaginative, after that religion was defamed in the eighties by several of its leaders being caught abusing boys,i realized through a few years of searching for the answers in a bottle, that i could create my own spirituality/religion by taking the most righteous elements of any beliefs i had researched .being raised christian/catholic i based it on the ten commandment and went from there.i do not generally believe in a Deity but a higher power which emanates from within(each of us) and flourishes throughout (wherever we exist)now and forever long we exist

You need to pray..and quick! Everytime I come here I pray for God to guard my heart and mind, because I know the truth. Satan puts all of these thoughts and lies in here to confuse us and to tempt us. Dont' fall into his snares. He always provides counterfeits, and they may look like the truth, but they are not. If you start doubting, talk to someone who is seasoned in their belief, who has gone through the valley and help you back to the mountain top.

Never.

But the scriptures encourage us to make sure of all things. (1 Thessalonians 5:21) Please do so.

Don't just discount an entire religion based on negative comments from people who have a vendetta.
