I am 15. My mom, me, my best friend, and her mom all want to go on a vacation. We live in Michigan so it can't be way over on the west coast. It can't be too expensive. We are looking to go for about 4 nights. What are some good ideas? Something out of the state of michigan, please.

That's funny. I was ready to say 'Branson' when I seen someone else already said that. It is a cheap place to stay with lots of entertainment for everyone varying in price from free to expensive. Package deals are the way to go in some cases. Silver Dollar City has a huge variety for every age and type of person, and is probably the best deal for the money.
You can get a clean motel easily for under $50 (many include breakfast for that price!) for the four of you if you aren't going on a busy weekend or if you reserve one. SDC will cost you more than some other entertainment, but offers an entire day of non-stop fun and entertainment, and even more days with a season pass, or a package deal. The food is pretty expensive there, but you can have a big breakfast before, eat lunch there, and eat dinner on the way back to your room. Check out their website, or Branson, Missouri. And for the 'beachy' part, they also own White water, and they have deals where you can get into both places, or also Celebration City... also a lot of fun for kids and adults if you like rides. (and I do!)
Have a great time wherever you go! Don't let anything ruin the fun!

Hotels are generally pretty expensive, but you might investigate cabins that are available in many state parks. You could head for Niagara, up over the bridge to Canada, or you could visit the Wisconsin Dells, a great place to spend a few days.

My favorite vacation, if you have time to get there, is the Great Smoky Mountains. Dollywood is there, as well as hundreds of other attractions, and at 15, you would really enjoy it there. The best part of it is, within just a few miles, you can leave civilization behind and be in one of the most scenic places in the U.S., where you can see bears and other wildlife as well as some of the most beautiful views in the world.

With little money to spend, you might consider camping. Just buy a tent, equip it, and enjoy the adventure. Tubing is a favorite in the Smoky Mountain National Park. Many parks require reservations, so call first.

There's lots of choices.....you just need to define what is your idea of a good time. You and your best friend might enjoy a day at Cedar Point or Kings Island in Ohio. Your Moms might enjoy something different. Your idea of fun might be seeing the sights in Chicago, or it might be hiking or boating on a lake. There are a lot of options.

With a four day trip, you might want to choose one city and spend your time there. Chicago, Cleveland, Cincinnati, and Indianapolis are all within easy driving distance from Michigan. Each city has attractions that are interesting visits, from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland to the numerous museums in Chicago. You might also be able to incorporate a thrill ride park near whatever city you choose.

Once you pick a city, then look for local events that may be there during the time of your visit. This might be plays, concerts, ball games, or whatever is in town that week. You might also look at unique restaurants/dining options for the few days you are in the city.
