One of my friends showed me why Jesus was black, and I was wondering if that would make him the greatest black leader ever born, and even better than Malcom X?

It is a valid theory. Most people believe that Jesus came from the Middle East. What many do not realize is that many people of the middle east have dark skin, just like black people. As a matter of fact they did not categorize races as we do today. People of the middle east would have been considered black in those days.

I don't believe you will find anyone to say that Jesus had black skin, because the thought of Jesus being anything other than a few shades darker than white is blasphemy! (sarcasm).

All skin colors are recessive to the African skin color. Think of how many shades of blacks there are. Now think of middle easterners, asians, & hispanics. Even those born in the middle east have varying shades of darkness or lightness to their skin. The only race of people whose skin color does not vary (with the exception of tanning) is the caucasion race. That is because of recessive genes & melanin.

Now if Jesus lived in the middle east (which is very hot, desert) he would have to have melanin in his skin to protect him from the harsh sun, and hair of wool to protect his scalp, and dark eyes to shield from the sun.

Anyway..it doesn't really matter what color he is, a great leader is a great leader.

Jesus probably was black. If not black than at least brown. These people who think he was white have issues that they should really come to grips with. However, to answer your question, since Jesus was the most influential person ever, than yes. I love Malcolm X, but he's not even close to being one of the greatest. What about Mandela? Of course the first people were black, so you can make an argument that any of them were the greatest. And if you believe in the whole Adam and Eve thing, which is completely ridiculous, then you could make the argument that either one of them were the most influential blacks.

A great leader is a person who has the ability to aspire or motivate people to action. To act on an idea or principle that is believe to improve their lives. What difference does it make of that person's race or the race of the people who he is able to inspire to act for the cause. If you have imprisoned yourself to follow someone only because they are "a great black leader", then you have limited your ability to fight for the cause of mankind. This is what Jesus stood for. He died for "ALL'. People at that time looked at greatness based on One's merit, not based on skin color. Read your history. Only in the past few hundred years did we start outwardly initate enslavement based on dark or black skin.

Actually, Jesus spoke Aramaic and was Semitic, as in what we consider today to be orthodox jewish. He would have looked more like the guys you see on the news from Israel and Palestine (Bethlehem is in Palestine), than Malcolm.

How's this for irony - the ethnic Tribes fighting in the Middle East (Arabic and Jewish) are considered to be from the same bloodlines....probably going back to Cain and Abel.

You probably think that he had african blood from when the Hebrews were in Egypt, but those were also semitic.

Unfortunately, your friend's information was altered, just like Europeans love the image of Jesus being tall, light brown haired, and blue-eyed.

He looks like us, no matter the color.

Obviously he would be the greatest of all time, if he were black. I'd be interested in your friends theory on a Black Jesus.

Jesus was not black.. Jesus was not white either..

The blonde haired blue eyed Jesus is the americanised version of Christ..

As is the Tupac version of Christ...

Christ came from the middle east...

However he is still the greatest leader of all time

Ummmm... Jesus was a jew. A Hebrew. A cousin of the Arab peoples... not likely black, but probably had darker skin than most "whites".
