Some states do require that you have you them with you... Call them a head time to save you a trip...

It actually varies from one county to another. Different places require different things. Some things that may be needed are:

A fee (almost always)
Driver's License
Witnesses
Birth Certificates
Blood Tests
Information about your parents (names and ages)
Proof of Divorce (if applicable)

It is best to call the courthouse in the county you'll be getting married in to find out what you need. They can also tell you when you should get your marriage license. Some licenses require you to wait a little while (like 24 hours) after the license is issued before you can have the ceremony performed. Also the marriage license will expire if you get it too early before the wedding. This also varies from one county to another, so make sure you ask.

Get in touch with the County where you got married to obtain a certified marriage license. Don't wait - usually only takes about a week to 10 days.

Usually yes. US? What state are you in?

I had to get my (now-ex) husband's birth certificate before we were married, and he was born in Germany- that was a lot of fun.

There are a couple sites where you can get vital records for a small fee. I had to replace my birth certificate recently. I used this site:
http://www.vitalchek.com

It took only a few weeks

yes you will need to get another copy of your birth certificate. just call the department of vital statistics where you were born. Tell them that you need a copy of your birth certificate. It will cost a fee. Each state fees are different.
good luck.

you need your bc - you can call for a copy - to the state you originally got it in. they can overnight it for about $50.
you should always keep an extra copy of your bc around.
I hope you get your passport in time! I hear they have a 4-6 month wait....

It all depends on what state you live in. The instructions on the court house website will tell you. If you do need get a certified copy instead. I didn't need mine. Good luck

Typically no - you just need a vailid ID - call your clerk of the court prior to applying to be sure you bring any other documentation (like official name change or divorce papers). Good Luck!

I think you do. Check at your local courthouse. To get your passports faster you can pay an extra estimated $500. They still won't come quick, but it will be faster than regular delivery.
