Yeah, I don't think you'd want fewer than that. Remember, more than likely all the food won't be out on the buffet, so someone will have to keep an eye on the buffet, and refill platters/etc., as they become emptied. For 100 people, that's only 4 servers--and I promise they'll be hopping!

For a buffet, yes, thats fine. If you were having servers, i'd say lessen it to about 1 server to 10 to 14 people.

Yes, that is about three tables of eight guests per server. First you help serve dinner then you bus their tables and keep the waters full. Offer extra assistance to people with mobility issues or Moms with young children . Plus assist with the cake and toast and make sure there is plenty of water when people are dancing. Most important is that you don't have to clean up.

By the time you serve over half the people either the people served first would be done eating or the food cold by the time the others were served. Get at one more server.

No, I don't think so. I've worked as a waitress and in catering. I think the limit is about 10-12 people per one server. It allows the server to provide better service if they have less people to worry about

Yes it is normal.
I worked in a resort and that was the least amount
of people for 1 server.

I'm having a buffet reception and everyone is going to serve themselves. But it's your wedding, so do as you please. Congrats.
