Well your question calls to mind the fertility goddess figurines found in stone age excavations,
so I would guess the first "god" was a fertility goddess

I don’t believe there’s any way to accurately count the number of gods that have been worshipped throughout history since many gods (if not all) may have been known by different names in different religious groups and societies.
Although most Christians believe in only one God, this is not what the original Hebrew scriptures tell us. In the first chapter of Genesis, as well as in 2601 other places in the Old Testament. the word God is translated from the Hebrew word 'eÌloÌhiÌym which literally means gods. It's plural.
In the beginning, the gods created the heavens and the earth. Yhovah (yehoÌvaÌh) isn't mentioned until Gen 2:4, after the seventh day. At that point, he took over possession of the earth. The word earth comes from the Hebrew 'erets ,which can mean either the Earth as a whole or an area of land.
The Bible speaks of other gods…either by name - i.e. Baal, Ashtoreth or by insinuation. For example: Ex. 20:3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me. And Gen 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image.
Since Christianity is a monotheistic religion, the plurality is, and always has, been ignored. Throughout history the translators of the Bible have always translated the plural word as a singular.
There are many similarities in some of the doctrines and other beliefs (such as creation or the flood) between the worlds religions
I believe that two possibilities exist to explain the similarities between different religions both past and present.
Yhovah may have been known by different names by people that spoke different languages and He may have had different plans for the different cultures. One good example of this is the fact that Muslims, who are descended from Abraham, call God Allah and certainly live by different religious doctrine.
Though as a Christian, I‘m less inclined to believe that explanation covers all the worlds religions. I’m more inclined to believe that Yhovah is the God of Jews and Christians (and as Allah to the Muslims) whereas there were (and still may be) other gods who were in charge of other cultures, civilizations and nations. As a matter of fact, The Aramaeans used the Babylonian pronunciation Bel for Baal; Bel became the Greek Belos who was identified with Zeus (that‘s four gods right there, all stemming from one). It’s quite possible that many, if not all, of the gods that we consider false or mythical may be quite real.
The scriptures clearly tell us that there are other gods (not to be confused with idols which are mentioned separately). The surviving religions of the world, as well as some extinct ones, show many similarities and there are historical clues that confirm this.
To answer your questions:
There’s no way to even guess at an accurate number of gods that have been (are) worshipped and it's impossible to tell which one was "first".
There is no reason why any one god should be more believable than any other…it’s a matter of personal choice. I believe in many gods…I choose to worship only Yhovah because the Bible (when studied in the original languages) is the only comprehensive religious text that explains and/or elaborates on subjects like creation, other gods and the prophesy of the Savior as well as the fulfillment of that prophesy. In addition, the Bible is one of only two religious texts that has had parts of it proven by archeology and other branches of science. (The Qur'Än being the other one and I'm counting the Torah as part of the Bible)

Did the Iceman who was murdered and frozen in the Alps 5000 years ago have a god?
According to most religions the world is only 5000 years old.
African migration can be raced 60,000 years and there are Neandethals who don't even share human DNA, They worshipped gods. There are artifacts that indicate they were as intelligent as homo erectus.
They arent mentioned in any scripture and neither are Dinosaurs.
I believe in Dinosaurs. I have seen their bones, Fossil fuels take millions of years to form from sunshine and vegetation, we're all in trouble on many levels because of oil and coal.
Which god in which scripture addresses this can of worms?
I'm not mocking anybodie's faith,Just playing Devil's Advocate.

There are many false gods (little g) and only one true and living God ( capital G ). The real God is the Lord, Creator and Sustainer of the universe.
He never began to exist because He always was so naturally He is the First and the Last! He is the Alpha and Omega! He is the beginning and the end!
EDIT: I SEE THAT SOME DIDN'T LIKE THE TRUTH IN THIS ANSWER. TRUTH WON'T CHANGE BECAUSE YOU REFUSE TO BELIEVE IT. WHAT WILL YOU DO WHEN YOU STAND FACE-TO-FACE WITH THIS HOLY GOD AND YOU REALIZE YOU REJECTED THE ONLY ONE WHO CAN SAVE YOU FROM SIN, DEATH AND HELL? YOU WILL NOT DENY HIS REALITY THEN! REPENT WHILE YOU STILL HAVE BREATH IN YOUR BODY. THERE IS NO SALVATION BEYOND THE GRAVE.

marc p could be right - or as balaam says, a sun god
there are countless numbers of gods. to anyone who says there is only one god - if there is one, then it is likely that there are more than one. just because he says he is the only one, doesn't make it so

There is only ONE TRUE god and he is Jehovah.
In the book of Isaiah, chapter forty-two, verse eight, the Almighty God says: “I am Jehovah, that is my name; and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise unto graven images.” (AS) So now this only true and living God is no longer unknown to you by his personal name. He is Jehovah God.
