Dreamweaver is certainly the main suitable of the WYSIWYG editors around, and between the few i might extremely use. regardless of the shown fact that it does not come low-priced and that i could desire to no longer likely propose a beginner dishing out that lots. I loathe FrontPage on account that's extremely constrained and produces clunky code. I also have a tendency to code at as quickly as in Notepad and for this reason anticipate code to be very clean so as that errors could nicely be rapidly corrected. discovering HTML is a huge thought and with some surprising tutorials around now, that's lots much less daunting than it was. I recommend finding out the only under which has helped many acquaintances learn.

If you have the money - Dreamweaver CS3.
If you want a freebie with a little more sophistication than Notepad then try HTML-Kit by Chami. Add-ons allow you program in any web language and it's FREE. It has it's own browser for testing, HTML checking is built in, it's not too big so loads up and runs quickly. http://www.chami.com
Done me good for years, even after I got the big DW.

NVU is an open source alternative to frontpage without the botched up crappy markup that Microsoft makes. It contains everything you need to start or continue development of a webpage. http://www.nvu.com/index.php
If its a plain simple editor that you want with syntax highlighting I recommend Scite. It's lightweight and fast even with hundreds of thousands of lines of syntax/code You can download it from here. http://www.scintilla.org/SciTE.html

Definately Dreamweaver, its not cheap but its worth the money. Its an excellent coding environment, especially for people who are still learning as it generates a lot of code automatically, but even pro's use it!
