I'm going to gamble that this is legitimate question and you're not just being a weisenhymer (they won't let me write wise ***).---{see ?)

I once met a black male flight attendant from Chicago. He was visiting family down here in the "deep" south. He asked me why is it that guys with southern accents all sound gay.

I've heard it said that supposedly there are a lot of gay guys in the health care industry. I expect the reason people think that about these two professions is that in the old days they only used women.

It's a stereotype. I suppose you could ask why are all female airline pilots, gym teachers, cable installers, professional basketball players, doctors, and hardware store clerks, lesbians.

The obvious answer is that they're born that way. It's sort of like not having a whole lot of choice about who your parents are.

A better question would be what causes gay males to gravitate towards becoming flight attendants? My guess, it's a decent job, with some fairly nice benefits, and can be performed without a college degree.

And an even better question would be why do you care? Who they choose to sleep with isn't your business as long as they take "no" for an answer if they make an advance; if they won't take "no" report them to the airline. They're there to give you a sack of peanuts and the beverage of your choice, if you don't like the fact that they may be openly, lisping, limp wristed gay, that's you're problem and you're unlikely to find an answer here that will change that.

I, personally, don't care if they like going to shag a coconut. Long as I don't have to watch, I don't care who or what's in bed with them at night.

They're not all gay. As another has stated, perhaps you are mistaking good manners and an ability to put up with narrow-minded homophobic people as homosexuality.

Why are some female flight attendants gay? Why are some male truck drivers or plumbers gay?

I'm not sure how this could POSSIBLY have any bearing as to what kind of people they are.

Unfortunately , some people also believe that about male nurses and hair stylists and professional dancers. It's just a career choice; it has nothing to do with being gay or not gay. Most are married and many have children. As long as they are doing a good job, it really shouldn't matter about their personal lifestyles.

why are you being sexist. Just because hes a man, doesnt necessarily mean hes gay. Thats just like being racist to each other. And does it really matter if a Flight attendant is a man? I dont think so, but they might think that you are gay for your job, but i donyt know!

they re not all gays!!!! I think that s because of the feminine part they ve got: they re more calm and less impulsive than most of other men. and airlines need that, because there are often passengers who are "difficult", so they need someone to calm down them....... I don t say that other men couldn t do that, I just want to say that gays are really appreciated for this quality
