You know what? If the passengers are stupid enough to get into a car with a drunk driver they deserve to go to jail with the drunk driver!! At least the driver is drunk and may not know the consequences of what he is doing at the time but if you are stone cold sober...what's your excuse for getting in a car with an IDIOT behind the wheel? They deserve jail if you ask me. Use your head people and we may not have so many accidents invoving alcohol. I come from a community where we have lost over 16 teenaged children due to alcohol related incidents bothe the teens drinking and drunks hitting the teens so this is a sore spot for me. My kids have been to at least 15 funerals of their goodfriends in the past three years and ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!! Think before you get in that car no matter what YOU drank or didn't drink, think about the driver and what he/she had to drink. BE SAFE,NOT SORRY.

As they should. And if your friends were sober - why didn't they take the keys???

They need to make drunk driving a felony and quit messing around with the "misdemeanor" I have had 2 loved ones killed in separate car accidents by a drunk driver. Enough is enough!

Makes sense to me. You'd have to be some degree of mental to let a drunk drive you around.

Yup. Steve McNair got charged with DUI a few weeks ago in Nashville for just that circumstance.

Yep, it's sort of like giving an angry person a gun. They deserve to be arrested. If they had enough money for a night of partying then they should have hired a cab.

That is why friends dont let friends drive drunk.
I would not do jail time for any "friend".
