Max, thank you kindly for your input, but J. Revolta has just been detected on radar in Spirit of Xenu, I am afraid he has neutralized all the canned goods being thrown by Germans using the control of MEST (matter energy space and time, at his disposal since he has attained a high level in the church)
come on guys and girls... seriously now !!!

Ryan, buddy, I lost most of my family to Hitler's henchmen... and I not jewish... he was the one who instituted the church tax (1% of income) in force till today in Germany and Austria... while the symbolism was occultist (the SS symbol and runic alphabet), he (unfortunately) used church and potrayed himself as *christian*.
I am afraid I was researching this for about 40 years... the evidence is indisputable... if you want to continue the discussion e-mail me... we can chew fat on this one for weeks sci.seek@hotmail.com

Are you more interested in the answers you're getting, instead of reading your question perhaps again.
You state:

were the Germans correct in preventing Tom Cruise from filming ?

they denied him filming rights in Germany on the basis that Scientology is a cult not a religion

Nobody prevented Tom Cruise from filming in Germany, with one exception "The Bendlerblock" the actual scene of Staufenberg's attempt to assassinate the madman Hitler.
As one should try to understand there are places in any Nation taboo for entertainment a'la Hollywood and to add the *Scientology *Religion*, as there are many of us who could care less about any fairytale vs hard facts, therefore making the decision that easy. The rest of your dribble is just nonsense as your question is to begin with.

Oh please, read the news properly. He is not denied filming rights in Germany in general, just on military sites and that because they don't want him to portray Stauffenberg who tried to assasinate Hitler and is therefore considered one of the very few heroes of Germany during the Nazi era. The legal situation in Germany would never make it possible to deny anyone from playing in a film in Germany because of his religion, but the military has a right to decide who they let on their bases. The Bendlerblock where they want to film is now the seat of the German Defense Ministry. It's the same in America, not everyone can enter military sites and even the Defense Ministry as he wishes and for whatever purpose he wishes.

Personally I think it's silly, they should allow him to film.

And movies with Tom Cruise are shown in Germany, this is the first time that I hear it's an issue that he's a Scientologist. That's really just because Stauffenberg is such an important person. If it was just an entertainment movie it would never be an issue.

Yes because Germany had a bad experience with a cult about 60 or 70 years ago.

Sorry tomtom. Do some research. Hitler used cults and religious symbolism from many different sources to get people to follow Nazism. You might be able to find Christian elements in the Nazi cult, but it was definitely NOT "Christianity" by any stretch of the word. Again, do some research, you'll find many cults that have Christian undertones but are definitely not Christian.

Humor me and read this: "Occultism is the study of occult or hidden wisdom. To the occultist it is the study of "Truth", a deeper truth that exists beneath the surface: 'The truth is always hidden in plain sight'. It can involve such subjects as magic (alternatively spelled and defined as magick), extra-sensory perception, astrology, spiritualism, numerology and lucid dreaming. There is often a strong religious element to these studies and beliefs, and many occultists profess adherence to religions such as Christianity, Judaism, Paganism, Hinduism, Buddhism."

Also read this: "Most often when using the term cult, Watchman Fellowship is referring to groups that claim to be Christian or compatible with Christianity, but when their theology and practices are examined, they are found to be contrary to the essential doctrines of the Christian faith.

Frequently cults will exploit their followers through the abuse of religious authority, forms of mind control, or psychological abuse, often in the name of Christ.

Occult organizations, however, seldom claim to be Christian churches. Occult practices are less frequently billed as compatible with Christianity (although there are exceptions).

The term "occult" is derived from the latin word occultus which means to cover up, to hide, or those things which are hidden or secret. When used in this paper the word "occult" means any attempt to gain supernatural knowledge or power apart from the God of the Bible."

So as you can see tomtom, you can call something "Christianity" all you want but it doesn't necessarily make it Christian. Just like you can call a Toad a prince all you want, it isn't one until a princess kisses it. There's a reason why they call Nazism an "occult" or a "cult" and not Christianity. Maybe you should meditate about that.

I don't think they were right. I have no use for Tom Cruise, and am absolutely not a Scientologist, but to bar someone from filming rights due to their religious affiliation constitutes discrimination. The man has the right to practice any religious belief he likes. Who, or what, will be banned next?

You can't legally prevent someone from being a complete idiot like a scientologist so I think Germany was wrong even though I agree that Tom Cruise should be shunned for being such a moron.
