You mean change his own paper? This isn't very sanitary and I don't think you should teach him to do it. Part of owning a bird is cleaning up after it. You can, however, train him to go to the bathroom in one certain spot in his cage. I would suggest doing that instead. If you want him to LET you change the paper, just take him out of the cage, distract him, or get a cage that has bars on the bottom (grate) and so he can't bite you (or whatever he does) when you change the paper. On a different note, I personally prefer using litter to paper because it doesn't stink ever and you don't have to change it as often. It also looks nicer.

Depends. If you want to get your bird to LET YOU change the paper in his cage, then simply distract him with treats and stuff. Or you can let him out of the cage while you are cleaning the cage. But if you are looking to train your parrot to change the papers HIMSELF, you are up for some serious work and training.

First change the paper..give him a treat. Than replace it again..as always give him a treat. He will pick it up. Greys are the smartest parrots.

Well thats not very healthy for him to do... I believe it's your responsibility.. That would be funny tho as I would love for my 2 to clean thier cages for me lol.. try taking him away from the cage if this is the problem your having...

if you have a play gym he can climb on it would help a lot. i have one right next to my birds cage . i usually put him on that,or put him over on the couch where i can watch him while i do it.
