The polite phase for dinner parties, etc is "May I be excused?" It is important to know this because if you are out on a date with a girlfriend and you say "I'm going to take a crap" it will be a guaranteed turn off.

A euphemism isn't unavoidably well mannered. that's basically yet otherwise to confer with something embarrassing or unsightly. whilst conversing of dying, as an occasion, you may say somebody is "resting in peace," they "kicked the bucket," or they are "trojan horse nutrition." the 1st is well mannered, the 2d is irreverent, and the third is basically basic coldhearted.

Just say you have to use the restroom. There's no way to politely say I'm going to go take a crap, unless you completely come up with a code name or saying.

When I worked at the care home we used to say "BM" for bowel movement. For some reason people (especially at restaurants) did not like being around us when we "talked shop".
I like "send a telegram to the President(/Bush)". A little old electrician said that to me yesterday when he needed to use the facilities.

Taking a bio break.
No one needs to know exactly which act you're in the bathroom to perform. WAY TMI.

Polite people don't inform everyone of their bodily functions.
Even if you announce you're going to evacuate your bowels, have a bowel movement, or excrete, it's rude.
No one really needs or wants to know.
"I'm going to the bathroom", if someone asks.
