No. It means what it says. Opposite not the same. I'm a female and if I am talking among other females and were to say. A member of the opposite sex. Wants to know what we think about them being involved in our decision making. Automatically it is understood I am talking about a man. When i said a (member of the opposite sex).

No, not at all. It means a member of the sex than I am not. It means if you're a boy, a member of the opposite sex is a girl. Simple huh! It isn't rocket science. if you have a we we then another person with a we we is definitely someone I DON'T want to have anything to deal with.

No. It means, if your a boy, a member of the opposite sex would be a girl. In this case, sex means gender, so opposite sex means opposite gender.

It refers to someone who is not of the same sex as you. I am a woman so my husband (a man) is a "member of the opposite sex".

I think you know what it means. You are just trying to be smart, too bad you're not successful at it. And oh yeah, I'm a member of the opposite sex if you really are a guy that is.

No, it has nothing to do with having sex, it has to do with being male or female. If you are male, a "member of the opposite sex" simply means "a girl". Get it?

Oh my God.. are you serious? Do you blow dry your hair in the bath tub too?
What happened to common knowledge... Member of the opposite sex means someone of the opposite..like not your own sex as you. I assume your a man, as only a man could ask such a dumb question...so for you women are members of the opposite sex...and with your kind of brain power its easy to see why no one wants to have any with you.

No, it just means someone who is the opposite gender as you.
If you are a male, then the "member of the opposite sex" would be a female.
