i personally believe thats is one if not the best tv out there. so yes hd tvs in general are great to have but the quality between hdtvs vary greatly . this set is at the top of all charts. this is an excellent deal . is it thru someone you trust. cus 1700 is good. is it refurbished. or had ne problems at all. most panasonics dont but you shud check. does it come with ne type of warrenty. if everything is kosher. then it is a def. must. but if you have ne doubt about the trustworthy ness of the retailer i wud seriosly second guess

Wow a 58 inch panasonic plasma for $1700 is a good deal all right. What would make it an even better deal is if it came with the factory warranty.

I have the 50" and it's great. I've seen the 58" for about $2400 new, so $1700 seems a little high. How old is it and how much has it been used? This should be your gage, as it is, or was when sold, a really nice unit.
