I believe that Christ is alive and that His blood was substitutionary for our forgiveness

What does that even MEAN? Why don't you speak clearly, so that the meaning is clear? Is this some secret language or code? What is the use of speaking about Christ on a public forum if only "certain" people get the benefit of the conversation? Do you think that everyone knows what the heck you're talking about when you say things like this? Telling someone that they will understand if they read the bible won't work either. I've met literally hundreds and hundreds of "Christians" who don't agree on the understanding of the bible. That's why they have so many "versions": to make it easier to understand.

Just speak plainly. What is this "Blood of Christ" that is allegedly alive, but is subject to someone believing it?

Reword it and I'd agree. His blood isn't alive per se. To have a better understanding try reading "The Diary of Saint Faustina Kowalska" it's a beautiful book. Also read the "Catechism of the the Catholic Church" that will explain stuff for you too.

"Now as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed, and broke it, and gave it to the disciples and said, 'Take, eat; this is my body.' And he took a cup, and when he had given thanks he gave it to them, saying, 'Drink of it, all of you; for this is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.'" (Mt. 26:26-28)

Yes I do. Jesus's blood is the living covenant

Sure....just like in that movie "The Thing", where you poke it with a hot needle and it goes skittering away, and then Jesus's head sprouts spider-legs and eyestalks and tries to sneak away from Kurt Russell and his flamethrower....
