The two most common causes of this:

1. Speaker wiring problems: a shorted or grounded speaker wire will cause the deck's internal amplifier to shut off. To troubleshoot, disconnect all the speakers behind the deck and re-connect them one at a time. If the first speaker doesn't work, try a different one; if you can make one work, keep hooking up others until you find the one causing the problem.

2. Your vehicle may have a factory amplifier that needs to be activated or bypassed before the speakers will work. This is very common in many American vehicles. What kind of vehicle is it?

should check your source level adjustments.

Also check your Telephone mute settings.

In addition, is Mute turned on?

If you don't have the manual, you can get it at pioneerelectronics.com. You have to register there, but then you can download the owners & installation manual in pdf format.
