If you have diarrhea and upset stomach, follow the BRAT diet for 24 hours -

B - Banana
R - Rice
A - Applesauce
T - Toast, tea.

This is recommended by doctors from the World Health Organization, it will rest the colon, ease the symptoms and meet your basic electrolyte needs.

Get well soon!

If you have an upset stomach the best things to eat are:

Plain toast or soda crackers
Chicken broth or chicken noodle/rice soup
Jello
Apple juice

If you've kept down salad,a banana,and a pear,I'd say you're OK.
The above is what we served to sick residents in a nursing home. The tea and water are ok but the apple juice is best.

The worst thing on a sick stomach is anything dairy such as milk etc.

I would have skipped the salad and stuck with the bland starchy foods, maybe a bit of chicken or veggie soup. The salad has too much fiber and the dressing too much acid for your tummy right now. They're hard to digest.

And it sounds as if you had a case of ptomaine. That's the most common type of food poisoning. If that's the case... you really should stick to a bland diet for the next day or two.

you can eat plain toast, ginger ale, crackers, but NOT tomato soup because it makes more acid in your stomach. so that's no good, but i usually have some dry cereal too. I try to stay away from dairy products because they make my stomach ache worse. you can also have gelatin, soups (not tomato) applesauce and don't forget to drink lots of liquids so you don't get dehydrated, frozen juice bars, Gatorade, sherbet, and broth/ramen noodles, graham crackers. I hope whoever is sick gets well soon : ) !!

Ginger helps settle your stomach, so you could try some ginger ale for that. Try to stay away from anything too spicy or hard to digest.
