1) See your doctor & have your thyroid checked. Excessive hair loss = symptom of low thyroid.

2) Try a different shampoo - one w/o DMDM hydantion, Quartinium-15 or formaldehyde as preservatives.

There are so many things that could be wrong. Are you losing long hair strands, are white balls on the ends, is the hair breaking in half? Are you clarifying, using too much protein? Here is a site that I love blackhairmedia (free to join) and longhaircare.com. You will find tons of information. Read the boards first, they are broken down in topics for you. After a week of doing what they suggest then please make a doctor's appointment.

Are your nails breaking off more easily as well? Have you felt very tired recently? These can all indicate that you are low on iron. You can call your doctor and order a blood test to check your iron count. If you are low, there are over-the-counter pills you can take to help boost your iron levels until they are back to normal.

I would start using John Freida and his hair products. And when you get out of the shower comb through your hair with a pick. You can get these at drug stores. Don't use bristle-brushes on wet hair because it pulls hair out. Let low on the mousse kk?
