If you use anything else beside a special cleaner and cloth for LCD screens you will regret it. Go to Radio Shack and pick some up.
Oh, And don't forget to disconnect the monitor from the computer as well.
LOL- Someone gave me thumbs down>Here's a message to you : Do you think I care that you use something else?..LOL!!!!

This is a good one - I have the same problem with the screen on my laptop - what kind of material is this? You have to treat it so carefully and the barest of touches leaves this indelible mark - the work of a tattoo artist! I will be scouring the answers for help with this, but I think anything ok to clean a computer screen should help- still you have to check for use wih LCD - could be a disaster... I just squint through the haze at the moment..

Whatever you do, don't use a chemical cleaner or abrasive substance. LCD screens are really easy to damage. And BTW, toothpaste is *really* abrasive.
Get some luke-warm warm water and add a very small amount of washing up liquid. Then dip a soft piece of lint-free cloth in and wring it out until you can't get any more water out of it. Gently wipe the screen, repeat with clean water and dry with a lint-free cloth.

if lcd DONT use household chemicails as there are silcon based and " eat " though the screen, because of these if you use a normal cloth a:- it might have chemial residual b:- just moves the dust across the screen and scrats it.
Have MONSTER clean sreen wash, 2 bottles and a special cloth will last me about 3-4 years. ALSO it will do my glasses, tft screen and cost £14.99.
Hope this helps, have a smudge free viewing

Foam cleanser works very well, but you probably would only have that if you are an electronics engineer.
How about getting some of the wipes used for cleaning flat screen lappies?? Local stationers probably.

Use the foam that is normally used for cleaning computer screens. Try PC world or somewhere like an office stationery supplier.
