Does anyone have before and after photos? That's what I'm really looking for.

I would suggest http://www.earthmamaangelbaby.com/stretch_oil.html

After your baby, the tatoo will look just the same.

No before and after photos here, but my hubby and I had a waitress the other day and we discussed this with her.

She had a tattoo of the sun done around her belly button when she was 15. Then, she got pregnant at 19. She has had 3 kids and each time the tattoo swelled up (huge) and then it went down. She said besides the ink getting a little blurry (like an older tattoo looks), her tat looks the same as it did when she got it! :)

Good luck! :)

I recommend women not get tattoos on their side, abdomen, or upper thighs before childbearing.
Think aluminum foil - all nice and flat and shiny. Draw a design on it, crinkle it into a ball, and spread it back out.
That is what happens to most tattoos - without stretch marks.
It stretches just because of the size of your belly, besides any excess weight gain. Doesn't matter how fast you lose the weight after, either - the damage is done.
You could be one of the lucky few that it doesn't happen to, but it's your choice.

LOL Having a tattoo around my belly button and on my back and having 3 kids I will NOT show you photos but I will tell you what it looks like!! It is still there..still looks good....a few stretch marks run through them and it is a bit erm.. shaggy....BUT! I still love them and recently freshened the color so that the color kinda hid the stretch marks...Looks great!!

Use baby oil through out your pregnancy it will help the skin stretch and have lesser marks!!

If I'd have thought about it I would have taken before and after pics......I think it depends on the woman. I have a tattoo just below my ribs on the right side and a tattoo just above my hip by my belly button. The one under my ribs is exactly the same. The one above my hip has one little pink line (stretchmark) through it. And let me tell you, when I was pregnant, I was ENORMOUS!!!! So, I think mine turned out ok.

With most people it stretches the tattoo as your stomach grows. Sometimes it doesn't, at least with my sister in law hers was fine after she had the baby. But, mostly the skin stretches and depending on the design it can ruin it.

Depending on where they are and how much you gain during pregnancy , They can stay pretty normal or stretch out of shape. The ones most likely to stretch out of shape are the one on you stomach. Use a lot of coco butter to keep your skin elastic to help prevent this and stretch marks.

Depends on if you mean before the baby is born or after it is born. Some people have no problems others are the opposite.

i have a pretty big tat around my bellybutton. i have had it since i was 16. 27 and two kids later it is still my husbands favorite spot. don't use those creams while you are pregnant they will allow it to stretch easier. but use them after and i know this sounds gross but mix your cream with hemmoroid cream and it helps to tighten the skin faster good luck and 'innocence' is a blitch
