i know that in my experience i would sleep on just a pillow with no scarf and because of the roughness of the pillow case (although it may not not seem rough) pulls out hairs and destroys the natural layering of the shaft. this is prominent in african (black people) hair, if you are in this boat before you go to bed (depending on the moisture level of your hair) put in a light/medium/heavy hair lotion/leave-in conditioner, and wear a silk scarf to bed. a slight trim (i hate haircuts because i want long hair but sometimes is needed for the greater good) maybe needed for the damage. ROUTINE, ROUTINE, ROUTINE!! i cut 4 inches off my hair last monthhe sake of making it even) but it was also the longest it had even been because of consistentcy in washicng, conditioning, etc. also i avoided (and continue to avoid) any type of heat whatsoever. my hair is growing stronger and i am considering taking chemicals out of my lifestyle also. hope this helps!

p.s-when finding a routine find out what is exactly right for YOUR hair take advice as it is...just advice.

Satin pillowcases are the best thing to sleep on. They minimize the breakage caused from sleeping. Also your hair may be dry. Try using a deep conditioner or rubbing olive oil in your hair.

most peoples hair breaks off cuz they treat it to much(coloring, blowdrying, hairspray, ponytails)try laying off that stuff and sleep on a silk pillow.☺♥
