Do pass plus, it wont get you a discount on your insurance but its good practise.
You can get a driving instructor to take you out and teach you how to drive on motorways. People tend to forget that driving instructors are not just for passing your driving test, they do refresher lessons as well. Just look in the yellow pages or I would recommend the AA driving school.
Its nice to hear someone is worried about driving better.

I am a driving instructor, and currently have 2 pupils who hold full licences. They just need a confidence boost, they can drive. Its is very common for qualified drivers to have driving lessons so phone a locally recommended instructor and book an hour or 2.

Practice slowly, first small city roads, then larger roads until you feel confident, you can drive anywhere in the city.

Quite simply book a lesson or two with a local driving instructor. Tell them what you want to do and why. This method is relatively cheap and as quick as you want.

sign up for an advanced driver course where they will teach you how to drive better . I believe that as you drive you tell the instructor what you see and what actions you will take .
they in turn will give you input .
