What steps do I need to take?

Really, this question is about leadership. If you want to be a leader, you have to decide what to base your style on. You can lead through intimidation (sneaky, backstabbing, lying, cheating, blackmailing, etc.) or you can lead through real leadership (kindness, thinking about what's best for everyone, trying to find win/win solutions, leading by example).
Either model can work, but long-term the second has the best chance for success. If you lead through intimidation, the people you intimidate are constantly looking for ways to bring you down. If you lead by true leadership, you build others up, so your success is their success.
Steps? Depends on which style you choose, but basically you choose your style, and evaluate all of your choices and decisions by that standard.
A few lawn flamingos in the front yard don't hurt, either way.

Buy yourself a crown put it on your head and tell your neighbors to pass along the message that you are officially the queen of the Trailer park. Or you could put together a pageant and rig it so you can win.

First you'll have to make yourself a toilet paper wedding dress & veil.
Then you'll have to ride your bike around the trailor park dressed in the toilet paper wedding dress & vail, all the time shouting out....I am Queen of the Trailor Park.

Buy a crown and a Red Cape. Put a La-Z-Boy on your front yard. Put a sign up that says, "Queen's Throne"

Be fat, lazy, have 10 kids, scream and cuss at them, let the good citizens of the state pay for your groceries and to raise your children thru the welfare system. Have a man who's and alcoholic and beats the 5hit out of you. Forget about the dentist...who needs teeth?!

Be fat, lazy, on welfare....have a bunch of small children running around with snot noses and just in diapers...oh ya and make sure they play in the road while your on the computer and be sure to not get off your fat butt...just yell at the top of your lungs how your gunna beat their asses.

Gain 50 pounds, start working at Walmart, bleach your own hair and don't wash it for years, wear clothes 3 sizes too small. Smoke and drink Natty Ice Bear-warm.

i would not try to take on too many leadership roles.
you are already Queen of Negativity and Number one bride from hell. any more titles and you might fail on some of your duties
