at what age do you stop giving a puppy canned puppy food??

Good-quality canned is fine to feed -- there's no solid scientific evidence that it's any worse for teeth than dry is. My own dogs have always been fed both canned and dry, and they have no teeth problems. My cats have always been fed primarily canned and again, they have no teeth problems. Anyone who tells you dry is better for teeth is full of BS. As far as canned being "garbage", that depends on the brand, same as dry. Kibbles 'n Bits is a garbage food, but that doesn't mean all dry food is garbage. Let's not generalize.

Anyway, to answer your question, I never feed puppy food. Puppy food encourages them to grow faster, which can lead to joint issues in the future. I prefer to feed either adult for or all-life stages food. If you're really insistent on feeding puppy food, one year is the time to stop. You can stop feeding canned anytime you like and switch to dry, if it's more convenient for you.

If you have a toy breed then you should stop at 12 months, if a medium/large breed stop around 6 months and if a giant breed don't feed puppy food of any kind not even large breed.

Canned food is perfectly fine to feed puppies or adult dogs. It contains a lot more meat protein then dry kibbles and far less carbs. Good quality canned foods offer a lot of nutrition.

Canned food does NOT cause tooth issues nor does dry foods prevent them. That is nothing more then an old wives tale and unfortunately one that is still believed by some vets (luckily not all)

Some real good quality canned foods:
Canidae, Chicken Soup, Wellness, Merrick, Fromm just to name a few.

I never used canned, but I read the label for the puppy food and stopped when it said, roughly at age 1 year.

Larger dogs may keep growing, but regular food is fine at that time...

If the canned food is specially formulated for puppies you can keep on giving it until the pup is 12 months old then switch to Junior and later on when they are 18 months old they can go on to Adult..

Science Plan do an excellent canned Puppy Food. My puppies are on that but I also mix in some Science Plan Natures Best kibble with it to give them a bit of crunch. They are thriving on it.

I have never used canned puppy food. I feed my dogs Iams Puppy Food. They will eat this until they are at least one year old. You can continue the puppy food if they are underweight or use if you have an older dog that needs to put on a little weight. The puppy food just has extra nutrients in it.

It's never to early to start adding kibble to the canned food a little at a time until in about 2 weeks puppy is eating maybe 90% kibble and 10% canned. Canned is good for flavor but the kibble is really better for their teeth.

I never fed wet food -- I feed Canidae all life stages, which is a food good for puppies, adult dogs, and senior dogs. I recommend it highly!
