Really. You know, since having a choice as a woman is the same as being "pro-abortion" according to the anti-choicers. And if you're pro something, well, then I imagine it must be something you enjoy doing. So who of you out there got pregnant for the sole purpose of proving your right to choose by having an abortion? Because many people seem to think it goes like that, for sure.

As always a brilliant answer, Ranting Rach. Can I impregnate you? I love to watch.

I'm prolife. I don't think anyone plans on getting pregnant but people that don't want babies should use whatever means necessary to prevent pregnancy. If you're raped, well, you have to decide what you want to do with the baby after it's born instead of making two wrongs a right. If you might die, you still have to think of the baby as having the right to live too. I would love it if more people would just go through with it and give their baby up for adoption. Some people say, "I could never do that. Better for it to never be born." That makes me speechless. The one good thing that woman can do is bring life into the world if she thinks she's worthless or all these other things are worth more. I've been there. I'm not the worst case but I never regretted having my babies and neither has the father who often doesn't even have the right to see their son or daughter be born. I don't want to judge people who make this choice. I don't know what's best for everybody but I vote for the baby when there isn't anybody else to defend it against death by shredding or pruning. There has got to be a better way!

I had a conversation with a pro-lifer the other day about an article she had read. A 42 year old woman got pregnant. And during some standard tests, it was discovered that the child has a certain disease. I can't remember the name as it was a bit long, but it was going to be incredibly painful for the child growing up, and most chlidren did not survive past the age of 12. The child would not be allowed to play with others as one of the factors of the disease was low immunity, amongst others.

The woman, who had been desperate for a child, had an abortion. She decided that her needs (for a child) were less important than the needs of the child for a normal and pain free life. Is 12 years of agony any sort of life for someone.

My Pro-life friend said, that there could have been a cure discovered tomorrow. But she obviously does not understand how that works. After years of testing on lab rats, they move on to other animals (generally monkies). After a few more years, they apply for approval to run a human trial. A few more years after that it might get approved for release to the public.

Whilst this is generally not this case for most people who have abortions, it is just one example of why they should be completely legal, and women should be able to use a service such as this of their own choice, without intimidation by self-righteous groups.

I of course get impregnated on a monthly basis, just so I can fork out the $1,000 for the airfare to the other side of the country, $200 for a night's accommodation, $600+ for the actual procedure (as it not covered by medicare unless my life is in danger), and around $100 in transfers. With such expenses, it is plain to see that it is not something taken lightly.

I would let you impregnate me, but I don't think I could bring myself to abort the little fluffy blue baby!

While abortion is not to be used as birth control, some women seem to use it that way. I cannot speak for them. But what about women or even girls, who are molested incestuously and got pgj, or the teenager who got pregnant because all the schools are teaching is abstinence, and parents don't say anything at all? There are many teens who are scared to death and don't know what to do. What would you have them do when they have no one to reach out to for help?
This is not a black and white question. It is not a simple one. It does not give a blanket option.
I thought I would get an abortion if I got pg. I knew I would be a horrible mom. I got pg, after all docs assured me I couldn't get pg. I couldn't abort. I was right however, I was a horrible mom. I will never forgive myself for that. I would never be able to forgive myself for getting an abortion either. This is not a simple problem.

Blessed Be

well, I am pro something. I could NEVER have an abortion, but I did get my tubes tied. So is that pro-choice?
I think that abortion is okay if there is eminent danger to the mother of the child or if all the children (multiple birth) will die if one is not aborted, but I would never make that decision.

Whatever anyone else chooses for themselves is fine. I personally don't have to sleep with their choices.

Thats the first time I've seen that one hot mamma thing answer a question intelligently, in the voice of a human being, with a heart and a soul, and not just that of some stupid troll,

thank you randi, you've brought out the best in at least one human being, who i now see as at least somewhat intellectually curious, and not just some useless troll

Pro-choice versus pro-abortion is a good point. Not all pro-choice women would have an abortion, they just don't feel qualified to make that decision for millions of women.

"pro-abortionists" would be people who picket ob/gyn clinics carrying signs exhorting pregnant women to abort.

they don't exist.
