Because they are weak in their faith.
And because they are weak in their sexuality.
They have been tempted by homosexuality...they experimented with boys when they were youths, and they have extreme guilt feelings about it.
He who protests too much...is usually he who is the most guilty/tempted.
However, the fundies will say it is based on the Bible...However, a thorough reading of the Bible will show that God says more about divorce, and most other sins than about homosexuality. Furthermore, the word homosexual was not even part of our vernacular until 1865...so, hard for the Bible to address it directly.

Romans 1:24-32. Therefore God gave them over in their sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. They exchanged the truth of God for a lie. worshiping and serving the creation instead of the creator who is forever praise.....we forget so easily,we are all guilty. Men abandoned their natural relations and burned in lust for each other,so did the women.

Because most religious people believe in family, they believe in having one mate, they believe its unnatural to have sex with your own sex... If you look at the animal kingdom, you will see that there aren't many gay lions and tigers and bears.. Oh my...
So just be gay and get over what others think... I'm a christian and don't care what others do.. I don't believe god hates you for whom you are... So don't label us all in the same group... Please think about your question before labeling us all the same... Its no better then a racist question...

it says so in the bible that homosexuality is a sin and those who are will not inherit the kingdom of heaven.....
