You could start by telling her that you don't make good decisions. You're a 17 year old girl with a 21 year old guy. Bad decision. Your 21 year old boyfriend has been in jail, not once, but a couple of times. Bad decision. Then you tell how you're going to carry on making bad decisions by staying with the guy and you don't care what she thinks. Also, a bad decision.

The question should be, why are YOU with this guy? Your mother obviously cares about you and wants the best for you, a guy that is only 21 and already been in jail "a couple of times" sounds like a big LOSER!!

the only way to tell her is to come out and just do it. I can tell you thought she's going to freak out. I'm only 25, and I would freak out. Your mom's not over protective to want you to have a good life. Any good parent wouldn't want their 17 year old daughter to be dating someone who ( you said a couple of times ) can't seem to stay out of trouble. What are you going to do if you get pregnant, and he goes back to jail. If you only listen to one tiny bit of this answer let it be: USE PROTECTION, DON'T THINK IT CAN'T HAPPEN TO YOU!!! Even if you REALLY love this guy, he's not ready to be a daddy, even if you think "everything is fine". Your mom just wants what's best for you, try to understand it from her view.

ur retarded, why would u want to date someone in jail and that is 5 yrs older than you?? probabl bc ur so easy to be manipulated and now ur trign to manipulate ur mom to get your way. When iw as 21 I coul not fathom dating a 17yr old. there is ahuge difference in maturity. Looking back if I were 17 and someone was 21 and wanted to date me i would think its cool at the time but then i would ask myself why cant he date someone who is 21??? bc he has seruous issues!!!

Well, of course your mom is going to worry about you--Take a look, the guy has been in jail a couple of time...plue you are not even legal yet. You can tell her, but you have to keep that in mind when you do. Don't expect her to welcome it with open arms.

First get pregnant, then tell her. Why just keep one thing as an issue, just blow this situation completely up and quit school and start using drugs. If you wreck the car and quit your job and do a few more things, you'll see the boy friend thing will become a very minor issue

Don't tell her. Grow up and realize what you just wrote.

When you have a daughter... would you allow this??

When you write this and already assume your mom will flip out, then you obviously know you're doing something wrong

Well you just have to suck it up and tell her. She will find out. Think about this though..if you're feeling like it's something you would have to hide, don't you think it's wrong for you?
