lol, i assume its because they have such a strong desire to please you. You are the alpha male in the family and they have learned that you are the main authority, and will always listen to commands etc. dogs in general, but especially hunting dogs are bred to follow out orders and pursue any command that they have learned.

Kids can talk back and dogs can't!!! Dogs also have a pack mentality and if you are the leader of the pack they will listen to you loyally and unconditionally. Dogs are great!

I think it's because dogs kind of sense that you're their main source of food, and they want to please you and make you happy so you keep on feeding them and whatnot. Kids don't ever really make that correlation, and the smart ones have figured out that you're not allowed to stop taking care of them even if they're being incorrigible, so they keep at it. With dogs AND kids, however, it is most effective to be consistent with your discipline methods and make sure they know who's boss, no matter how much you love them.

Cause people tend to threaten kids to get them to do what they want ' clean your room or you can't go to the game ' and kids get to realize that they only need to bug their parents and they'll get to do what they want.
You can threaten your dog all you want and he has no clue what you mean, so you end up having to train and teach him what you want him to know.
It seems parents very quickly give in to kids.. just so that they will quit bugging... Kids don't go lay down when they don't get what they want..

Because dogs are loyal by nature and eager to please. Children are constantly listening to their "id", if you will, and usually care about themselves before you. Also, that's just thenature of a child, not wanting to listen to their parents. I don't find it weird at all.

because no one is taking authority away from us with our dogs . You know like the cps does with our kids telling us that our spanking of our own kids is wrong . well we dont have anyone telling us that our authority over our animals is wrong . that is the difference. good luck .
