I work in a tire shop and I just recently had a Diesel Jeep Liberty in there and the guy said that they are not going to be manufacturing the Diesels anymore.
He said as soon as he found out this the dealer called him asking if he wanted to sell his.
They only made them a few years. But he says his gets fairly decent mileage.

I had a Cherokee diesel, and a Petrol Wrangler. Both were great. Diesels are generally better for offroad as they provide more torque at the wheels. Diesels also have far less electrics (such as sparkplugs) and so are able to cope with water and damp conditions (think mud) without special preparation or worries. They will also go further on a tankfull of fuel. There is no difference in the general reliability or service costs.

I own a 96 Jeep Grand Cherokee and average 24MPG mix of city/highway with full time 4WD. 4.0L inline 6 engine 4speed automatic transmission. Gasoline model Jeeps are very easy to get, there were only a couple years that the Jeep Libertys came with a CRD diesel engine. Stay away from the diesel models because parts are going to be hard to get. I currently have 190,000+ miles on my Jeep and it still runs great.

It's a case of not being able to afford to run them when bought, so everyone opt's for diesel thinking there cheaper to run, but you have to be a very high mileadge runner to be cost effective, the cost of repairs to diesel engines will cancel out the initial saving on fuel.. theres nothing wrong with petrol engined models, also you would be looked down on owning a petrol, it's supprising how many snob's there are out there!
do you need a 4x4? will it ever go off road? i doupt it!!

If you really must have a 4x4, then you might as well p*ss off everyone to the max. Get a petrol one. I believe you can get a Grand Cherokee with a 5.7 litre V8.
Might as well be hung for a sheep as a lamb!!

jeeps are always costly
it is acts like a hungry beast and drinks almost a liter of petrol in every 2.5 to 3 kilos
so better to buy a diesel or cng one

i have a land cruiser of 2004 or 03 model

i almost got to be beggar. the parts of it are very costly and the per kilo running cost is very high.now a days i am using public transport instead of it.

i prefer you not to buy 4X4 jeep

instead of it buy a sedan car like
toyota corolla
or camry or crown

these are much better than this

i think this would help you if you have more query contact me

thank you very much
