with out a doubt get out of your comfort zone. take a vacation. when i became recently single I started to travel, i went to see friends in vegas, i went to visit family. Its weird the things i didn't do when i was dating, for no particular reason. get out and knock some things off of your to do list. focus on things you want to accomplish, no one should be holding you back now. not that he was.

I hear ya!! I went from boyfriend to boyfriend from the time I was 15 to the time I was 26. Now...here I am...alone for the first time in my life...trying to decide how to go somewhere alone and feel comfortable. You need a girlfriend. Just go somewhere you like to hang out...and meet some people. Bring a friend and you'll feel more comfortable. It takes time. Just start calling friends and asking what they're doing. Stay busy and you'll meet a bunch of new people!! Good luck and enjoy yourself!! =)

It IS a switch in gears.
Take up a hobby you've always been curious about or get reinterested in one you let fall by the wayside while dating.
Take a class of something you've always wanted to learn (photography, pottery, dance, etc).
Spend more time with friends.
Do volunteer work...which can always be a great way to network and meet people.
Curl up with that good book you haven't had a chance to read or rent/view all those movies you'd missed and never got around to catching up on.
It won't take long before you're digging your independence and "me" time and will wonder how you'd change things if you were to date someone again.

You have to get out there with your girlfriends and just have fun! This is the time of year when it is great to be single again!! Date more than one guy, even if you don't feel up to it. It will boost your self confidence as well as take your mind off the old guy. Have fun!!

I suggest going far far away on a trip and finding yourself. You can't hear anything when you are focused on work and life. So go camping or to a resort spa and sit along and listen to your inner voice.
Listen to nature. The answer will come and you will know.

I just do it.
bars, BBQ ,beaches, friends, oh and lots of alcohol.
yes, and I flirt with every girl I come across (almost)
Its really just to boost my confidence.
I never lead them on though. I let them know I'm "dating"
but of course this mentaly heathly, socially interacting answer needs to have lots more thumbs down....
maybe if I said you should get back together I might get a thumbs up???

Do volunteer work -- help at a school, at a child shelter, with the elderly. Get involved in things you like to do, and help others. And who knows -- you might just unexpectedly meet a great guy, too.

What is your passion in life when it is not a man? If you don't have one, you should find one (since it SHOULDN'T be a man anyway).
Learn to enjoy being with yourself.

Think about all of the things you would like to do had you had the time, and do them. The world will come to you if you stay active and participate in life.

throw those hands in the air, give a shout of joy and get a few drinks for starters, then go out and make some new friends!
