I think that's still summer, but beginning of the fall - depends on where you live too - maybe the leaves will be turning? I think your colors will be fine.
My parents were married on Sept. 3rd, and they used "September Song" as their song, BTW... I think they always though of it as fall.

Well technically it's still gonna be summer (since fall begins around sept 21-23) I think if you want to go woth those colors you shold consider and evening wedding. Like when the sun sets so the colors go better together. Since the sun is kinda orange at sunset your eggplant/ mauve colors will blend very nicely to the sunset background. I suggest looking at a color wheel and really combining you colors from there. You don't want to go with clors that don't complement eachother. For instance Green is the complementary color for red, blue for orange, and purple for yellow.
Good Luck!!!

It's your day baby! You can have whatever you want!
although September 2, is still summer, the white and mauve are still summery, also if you are having a late afternoon or evening wedding you can also use the eggplant color more prominently. I would talk to your florist about your concern if you want, but I honestly don't see a problem with your color scheme!
Good luck and Congrats!

I think that September weddings would qualify under Autumn weddings. I love the eggplant calla lilies idea, that's going to look beautiful. I'm not sure what color mauve is though.

Darling, it's your wedding. Do what you like. There is no right or wrong color scheme for the seasons. Some may look a little out of place such as pastels at Christmas, but if that's what you want then so be it. Fall actually begins somewhere around the 21st or so in September, so you would not be out of line with you colors.

Technically, that's still summer. But where you live and what time of day your wedding will be factor in.
Example: if you're in a warmer climate and it's an outdoor service in the early afternoon, wearing dark colors could be a killer for your attendants. Same scenario in the evening could be considered 'elegant'.
Keep in mind that you can have whatever color you want, whenever. This is your wedding. If you like it, that's all that matters. The season is irrelevant. In 20 years the only one thumbing through your wedding photos will most likely be you, not the people attending.

You are right that technically September 2 is considered the end of summer (autumn actually starts the third week of Sept). You don't say in what country you are from, but if it is the USA then Sept 2 is most traditionally associated with summer still because it falls BEFORE Labor Day and after Labor Day is when summer "unofficially" ends. Good luck and God Bless.

It's still summer until September 21. I think eggplant is a dark colour for that time of year *but* if you like them, who cares? I doubt you'll have any complaints from guests! ;o) Mauve is quite light and will brighten the whole thing up. Go for it!

No, I consider that summer. In fact, I consider any wedding in the first 1/2 of the month as a summer wedding. Anything taking place in the last 1 or 2 of the month can be Fall.
It's too warm in the beginning of September for it to pass as Fall.

I am getting married in March 09 and I don't care what the "in" colors are, instead I want something the my husband-to-be and I both like and that it will look timeless. I don't want it to be "ewww, they so got married in 2009!" Go with what the two of you agree on and have fun with it. Don't care about what everyone else is thinking. Congrats and best wishes.

It's you're wedding- you get to do what you want!! Even though it is early for fall colors (and the weather can still be warm) I think it would be fine to wear "fall colors". The flowers sound beautiful! Have fun and congrats!
