It really depends on the brand, store you bought it from, amount of detail, size, etc. Then add in the cost of alterations. I went to a discount bridal place and bought a wedding dress that was normally $500 for $200!!! And it was not out of style by any means. About two months later, I saw something similar to it in an ad in a wedding magazine. The alterations were then another $100.

I just got married in May. I saw dresses ranging from 100 and up, and I found a beautiful one priced at 1000, but because it was during a sale, I got 200 off. Once the veil, crinoline, blushing veil, and bra were purchased I had spent about 1400. It all depends on what you like and what suits you. I tried on 12 and it was of course the last one on my list to try on (the girl said it almost always works out that way). I have a friend who bought her dress in Vegas. It was gorgeous and she spent about 600. She said there are a lot of great deals there.

I would say the average amount is $400 - $2,000, but I spent $160 on a beautiful dress off Ebay!

I recall spending about $1000.00 on my gown.
That was including all the accesories that come with the dress ( the girdle + underlay ) And it was made of Lace + beaded with crystals and perals
You can find really nice dresses at affordable prices at Davids Bridal (the $99 Sale) or you can shop around different boutiques. Sometimes there are designer sample sales. You can also try those out.
Good Luck with your dress!!!

I spent roughly around $60 on my wedding dress and it was custom made. My mom made my dress and it was beautiful. So all we spent money on was the fabric which was beautiful. It was a see through organza. We also bought some tule for my veil and some flowers that went all around the neckline. So $60 is really really good for the beautiful, custom made dress I got to wear.

I spent $550 for the dress. Then there was the veil, slip, bra, hose and shoes. Total was $875.00. Figure in a few more dollars for alterations, makeup, hair, etc. I thought what I paid was a moderate amount for a full size bride.

I cheated with my dress, I found it at the bridal shop, it was a little over $3,000, so I found out the manufacturer and found the same exact dress in my size on e-bay, and I spent right around $110.00, that included shipping and the veil. Perfect fit no alterations required.

I bought my dress from David's Bridal for $599. That was for the gown alone. I then had to spend money on accessories, alterations, and special lingerie for the dress, so I was happy I paid a very reasonable price for my gown. I'd highly recommend David's to any soon-to-be bride out there.
