Hello, I have these marks between my breast which first appeared while I was pregnant with my son 6yrs ago and after the birth it began to fade away but never entirely. No matter what I do, it won't go away. When the temp is hot/humid (in NYC) it usually gets darker (maybe because I'm hot?). The other day I noticed that sections of it were pealing, but its still there. Now, it's not just one small section and thats it, it's actually little bits here and there but all in that one area (between my breasts). What can this possibly be?

I'm sure I'm not pregnant (I heard woman get strange markings during pregnancy).

Thanks.

Sounds like areas of darker pigmentation but for an exact diagnosis and how to deal with it, a visit to a dermatologist would be needed. Women, particularly brunettes, often notice skin pigment changes during a pregnancy and, sometimes, they do not go away even after the baby is born. It is nothing to worry about but if it bothers you, please see a dermatologist.

If it is hideable, you should draw a circle around it with a permanent marker. If it goes outside of the circle or changes shape and or color, no matter how scary they are you should go to the doc, it could be the start of a melanoma.
