PS, You are absolutely right, it has NOTHING to do with cycling. I simply forgot to get out of the category before posting. Thanks for pointing this out!

I have a full time job that, like other people, finds me sitting in front of the PC waiting for other people or programs to do their thing. I find that participating in Yahoo Answers gives me a way to use my knowledge to help others while I am at work which helps me pass the time. It is also a lot more brain stimualtion than watching videos on www.break.com or playing Jted...

As someone has already pointed out a lot of people work with computers plus have them in their home, many people also work from home via the computer....maybe we just enjoy conversing with people rather than spend our entire evenings stuck in front of a TV set that tells us how to think or feel.
Some of us have been members for quite a while already....besides there are many other ways of earning points than just by answering questions....
For others, disability may be their life in which case y/a could be their only lifeline to the outside world & keeping up with events, there are also a lot of OAP's on here that enjoy giving of their valuable life's experience....then in case you haven't heard there are a lot of unemployed people around too who use computers while searching data bases for jobs & y/a is a quick filling in of time while waiting for emails etc;
There are a lot of reasons as to why people may spend time here on y/a.....don't be so quick to judge how other people choose to spend their time. we don't have to answer to you or anyone else.....if you're looking for a job as a judge, you're in the wrong forum.

I'm able to do it at work, during render time. I work editing video, and when I have to let the computer render the video (which can take anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours) I go into Yahoo Q&A, since there's nothing else to do during the render process except maybe take out the trash.

Don't just phone. Go to a prospective work place in person. Also, dress how you would if you were going to start working there right when you walk in. Be confident in the interview, and look the interviewer in the eye.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I manage to work fulltime and also use Yahoo Answers. Sometimes I jump on while I'm eating lunch (like right now) and I also have internet at home.
I also manage to have a few hobbies, a bf, and time with my family even though I work. Crazy, huh? ;)
Now that I've answered your question, tho, I gotta ask ... wtf does this have to do with cycling??

i know it seems weird, but to be true, many people nowadays work on computers, in IT companies. and even the normal employees come home in the evening, and so they go on the internet and go on yahoo answers, including me.

I am a very sad person, all i do is answer other peoples not so sad questions. My goal in life is to achieve at least 2000,000 points and be KING of YAHOO so i can rule the WORLD. Oh yes about bikes..........sorry, what was the question again?
P.S. I'm on the dole, you can help by making this your favourite answer. Please give generously, many thanks.
