JW's are a business entity. The watchtower Society is a registered business, just like Walmart, or McDonalds. In order for them to keep making money, they need to have growth. They have a high turn around because they have so much false doctrine. This is the church that predicted Jesus' return twice and was wrong both times. They don't believe that Jesus is God, even though he said he is, which would make Jesus a liar. So they have a hard time keeping people coming back.

We are constantly sharing offering to share our beliefs, for a few reasons. One reason being that God's son Jesus is recorded in the Bible as telling All his disciples to go forth sharing.
Does any one group require this much advertising, probably not, however just like other groups who are trying to help others, we want to make our message avalible to Everyone.
What are we afraid of? Well asside from not wishing to be disobediant to Jesus' commandment, there is little fear. I do know that many people's lives have been improved by embrassing Bible teachings. I feel these principles can be very helpful, so why wait to share with others.
I guess the pushers thing depends on the definition of pusher. As I understand it pushers do not take no for an answer. While we always hope that the same principles that help us can help others, if they say no, we try to respect their wishes and move on.
Being Christian should not be like clothing a person can put on and take off. We strive to be Christians 24 hours a day. Part of this is always being willing to share our beliefs.
What if you don't wish to be a Witness, then simply let us know. There is around 1 Witness to every 999 non Witnesses world wide. Clearly not everyone who hears from us wishes to be one of us. That is fine, in fact the Bible makes it clear that free will is a God given right.
If you do not like/wish to read our literature you don't have to. No one is forcing you to.
If you don't want to be a Witness, once again, no one is forcing you. Simply let us know you do not want us coming back to your home, that is of course assuming it is your home, and we will try to honor your wishes. Consider, the US army is easy to join, unlike making a change of personal principles, agreeing to be in the millitary seems rather easy. Their are many commercials for the millitary, does this mean you are being forced to join?? No. Someone might offer you dinner, doesn't mean you have to say yes.

I do not belong to the Jehovah's Witnesses. I will state that they are some of the kindest people I have ever met . They pay for the pamphlets they distribute , a very nominal fee , out of their own pockets . Something like $.15 per pamphlet .I don't believe that Watchtower makes any money at this , I'm sure it takes that much to print . Also Jehovah's Witnesses don't believe in making a profit from preaching . They are so stringent on this that their elders who lead the church do not draw a salary , and must have another job .Unlike the other Christian denominations which pay their preacher , pastor , minister etc. a salary and often provide housing . JW elders are not paid .Their halls are rented by donations from it's members , and all must volunteer time to work there . Although some of their teachings that I am in disagreement with , I can find something to disagree with in all the denominations . They are an honorable group of people . If you don't want their literature just say so .

Jehovah's witnesses are following the example Jesus set for all true Christians which is outline at Matthew 28:19,20. Jesus preached to others where ever they may be found and the Watchtower is a Bible aid that takes you to your Bible. If you don't want Witnesses to come to your home then simply put a no trespassing sign up or better yet call the local Kingdom Hall give them your address and tell them you wish to be placed on a DO NOT CALL list. This will help us witnesses find the sheeplike, honest hearted people much faster and not waste our time.

Jehovah's Witnesses actively preach the Bible's message in compliance with Jesus' command to his early disciples to "go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded you." Matt. 28:19, 20. While giving his disciples instuctions for their preaching campaign, he told them: "You will be witnesses of me both in Jerusalem and in all Ju·de′a and Sa·mar′i·a and to the most distant part of the earth." Acts 1:8. Tell me, if you lived back in the first century, would you call Jesus' early followers "religion pushers"? Would you call them a cult?
If you call yourself a Christian, are obeying Jesus' command to preach? If not, how can you call yourself a Christian?
Misinformed people falsely accuse JW's of "salvation by works," although they are following a direct command from Jesus.
It is true that the Watchtower Society is a registered corporation. That is a government requirement. But does that mean its members are pocketing the money like church officials? To the contrary! The voluntary donations that keep the organization running go directly into the preaching ministry. The work done at the Watchtower headquarters and branch offices around the world is done by VOLUNTEERS! So what Carl H is saying about Jehovah's Witnesses is untrue.

i'm sorry in case you have been indignant. maximum bibles examine 'bypass' as what Jesus grow to be upon besides the indisputable fact that that's a mistranslation of stau'ros which could translate as upright diminished or pole. And with regard to the NWT, did you recognize that the Catholics have their very own translations too and that they have got further books to the bible?

1st of all, we do not charge anything for any of our literature, CD's, VCR, I pay for my gas when out in service, no one gets paid, some may be retired, I am, others have jobs to support their families.
If you do not want them coming to your home, tell them so, they will make a note of it, and no one will call on you.
Why do you condemn Witnesses for their literature, when all of the religions on TV offer literature, CD's, etc. and they charge you for it.
Recently a clergyman in Brooklyn, New York, obtained a copy of the book The Truth That Leads to Eternal Life. He was so impressed with the chapter dealing with prayer that he used the book to teach members of his church this chapter in a special meeting. Later he was asked by one of them, “Are you teaching us out of those Jehovah’s witnesses’ books?”
He replied: “It is the truth, isn’t it? When you want Sunday-school literature, you get it from several sources, don’t you? Well, Jehovah’s witnesses teach the truth. Furthermore, when you see Jehovah’s witnesses with the Watchtower magazine, you ought to take it, because they print the truth.”

Carl has a great point with the fact that JWs are a business. Individual followers may be in it to spread the word of God, but the establishment makes money. People who go door-to-door may, again, be spreading the good news of God, but they gain nothing from new converts, while Watchtower will certainly gain money from new converts.
It's interesting, Palms, that you seem to call the world liars. Shouldn't only God (or Jehovah) be the judge of that? Let me say a few things about JWs, and tell me if this is not true. And when I ask for Biblical sources, could they back it up by an unchanged, unbiasedly translated Bible (not the NWT; New World Translation)?
-Jehovah's Witnesses do not observe holidays or birthdays. For what reason? Is it Biblical?
-Jehovah's Witnesses are forbidden to vote, salute the flag, work in the military or accept blood transfusions. Why not? Do they even support our troops (through even prayer or otherwise)? What do they have against our country, or so it seems? And is any of that Biblical?
-Jehovah's Witnesses believe that salvation is limited to 144,000 (which has been reached) and that the rest live as "The great crowd" and must obey God perfectly for 100 years or be annihilated. Where is that Biblical? Why would salvation be limited?
These are only some things JWs believe. These are not lies. If I asked a JW that, they would agree that this is all correct. I don't spread hate, Palms. I spread the good news, too. However, I spread without a church that translates the Bible how they want. NWT is the basis of the JW beliefs, and while it speaks of God, they only serve Jehovah. JWs do not believe in the trinity, and even their website admits that with an explanation to follow.
Actually, looking at their website, they are talking about Christianity as an "ancient, false religion". They say that several times. That's why NWT is titled that way, I suppose. It's for the "New World". Either way, I don't feel that JWs coming to my door is an insult to my beliefs. There's not much you can do about the fact that you don't want them to come to your house. Palms says that telling them to remove the address will keep them from coming. Well, there you go. I don't want to join a cult, either.
By the way, Carl, that's excellent additional information you added.

It is not that they are afraid of anything but many lack accurate knowledge and reach for excuses and lies to hack about the Witnesses.
"And this good news shall be preached for a witness to all the nations and then the end will come"..
I have seen the watchtowers and love them but they are not afraid and try to help others gain accurate knowledge and have hope about the future for mankind, and about our Grand Creator, Jehovah God.
The Witnesses are not a cult. Do you know what a cult is? A cult follows a man much like Jamestown, or Catholics who worship and follow a pope, or Waco---remember Waco the false prophet, or any other religion that worships or follows a man.
Jehovah's Witnesses give all worship and their dedication to serving Jehovah God, NOT A MAN. Do not continue spreading lies about the witnesses as Jehovah does not take too kindly this blasphemous conduct and it could mean your life, you know? Not by the hand of Witnesses but by God himself.
If you don't want to be one of Jehovah's Witnesses then that is your choice. IF they come to your house, you tell them to remove your house from their list and do not come to your residence ever again. They will abide by this. But spreading lies and untruths about them will leave you in turmoil because you lack accurate knowledge and they are the nicest people I have ever met in my life.
They only go door to door to spread the good news. They don't get paid and many times they don't want to "get out there" because they know they will face persecution by liars and ridiculers, but they do it to show love for God and they love all people and want to offer hope and knowledge for those willing to accept the truth.
Don't lie or make up false rumors about them ever again. To do this could bring badness upon yourself.

Really, everyone who respects and obeys Jesus Christ goes from door to door to teach his neighbors about the Bible's good news. It is interesting that only Jehovah's Witnesses are so clearly identified with the preaching work; globally more than 6 million preach publicly each month.
(Matthew 28:19,20) Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded you.
(Acts 5:42) Every day in the temple and from house to house they continued without letup teaching and declaring the good news about the Christ, Jesus.
(Acts 20:20) I did not hold back ...from teaching you publicly and from house to house
It's sad when someone who claims to respect the bible actually insults or even advocates attacking a peaceful preacher. Sad but completely expected.
(2 Timothy 4:3-5) For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the healthful teaching... You, though, keep your senses in all things, suffer evil, do the work of an evangelizer, fully accomplish your ministry.
Really, if someone goes out of their way to disregard Christian preachers and preaching, what is he saying about himself?
(Luke 10:1-17) After these things the Lord designated seventy others and sent them forth by twos... “He that listens to you listens to me too. And he that disregards you disregards me too. Moreover, he that disregards me disregards also him that sent me forth.”
