I'm just curious. If someone does not believe in a supreme being - be he/she/it good, bad, indifferent or more than one - what is the intrigue for reading, questioning and responding on the R&S site?

Why are you so blind to what an atheist is?!! ATHEIST - somebody who does not believe in a God – any God – no longer in basic terms the Christian one. yet that doesn't recommend they do no longer carry reliable ethical or non secular ideals! they might carry on with any faith that doesn't have a god and there are different those!! Like BUDDHISM – non secular coaching from Buddha and his followers that by way of destroying greed, hatred and myth (the clarification for all suffering) guy can attain suited enlightenment!! upload christians and muslims mutually and that they volume to easily below a third of the international inhabitants maximum folk of something is made out of atheists and religions without gods!! so as that they are interior maximum folk right here!!!

what makes you think that atheists are not spiritual? Have you cornered the market on spirituality or something? I have found other atheists to be very spiritual. Not all of them, but some of them. Not believing in god, or believing in god, does not determine spirituality. If I were you, I would question my own level of prejudice and feelings of some kind of superiority. You are not superior to anyone. I believe that if you will take a look, many of the atheists here have highly philisophical and intelligent exchanges in the midst of blame and shame pointing christians. Open your mind a little and you might learn something.

Religion is one subject that I have studied for many years. Not just one religion, but all major beliefs. Why shouldn't I have an interest in what people are asking for ?
Because I don't have any superstitious beliefs myself, does not mean that I'm ignorant of the subject.
Why do millions of people read Harry Potter books, they know that people can't do the things that Potter does ?

Again thats what 3 already today?

I come to express my viewpoint on religion and to try and explain to people why I do not believe in a god in an attempt to enlighten them about atheism. I also come to try and make people think about their own faith so that hopefully they will take a deep hard long look at their beliefs and decided for themselves if they should keep believing instead of having always done it because they where raised that way.

Okay, it's not Pascal's Wager but *Drink*!

It's not for religious and superstitious people only!
It's about them as well.
And being as how world politics are the way they are right now, religion and spirituality affect us all.
You can't help but have an opinion about religion and those it kills!
And believing in a deity can be very hazardous to your health!
As such even hated and despised atheists are entitled to their opinion!

1. The opposite of ANY topic is still part of the topic, so we add a fullness to the discussion here.
2. Christians ask us so many fun questions; it would be rude not to answer.
3. The drinks

It is too early to drink, so I'll have some tea.

Because it causes controversy. Controversy causes growth. If we all agreed with everything that was said, or if we all believed the same things, we would never learn anything new. Our view points would never be challenged. We would never be caused to think on our feet and find REASONS why we believe the way we do. It causes us to evaluate our stances on any particular viewpoint. Personally, I'm glad they're here.

I take a few hours out and it's as if my screen has locked. Same old same old. How come your screen is not overwhelmed with "similar questions" when you start typing this in?

Anyway, primoa1970 deserves best answer for this. Surely that will get the message to you.

Drink.

Atheism is the other side of the coin. And do you an "atheism" section? If you did, do you think the religious would come over? This is an open forum... anybody can answer any question.
