Probably not, unless your job requires a security clearance, then the officials conducting the investigation probably will.
The reason they will not is because they need the bodies and don't care about your past, as long as it doesn't contain a felony.

Redundancies in the armed forces is not a new thing and is only news because the overall numbers are being reduced. Every now an again there is a clear out of 'dead wood' which is understandable. Recruiting has to continue to replace those who are lost due to 'natural wastage', I am not sure if civilian employment law applies to the armed forces but even if it does the time taken to train recruits exceeds the six month exclusion period to fill a job that has been vacated due to redundancy. From a cynical point of view it may well be that there is a move afoot to reduce the overall pension bill by ridding the forces of long serving ranks. My view is that all three of our services are top heavy and more cuts need to be made from the top down and end the old boy jobs for life gravy train.

yes they do, and no set time, days ,weeks usually. they do an FBI back ground check. they will unkonwn to you, check your school records, hospital records and even maybe a neighbor or two and the local police authorities. Don't lie on a form, they got to cover themselvres, so don't get all parannoid thinking the gorerment is into your private stuff, your entering the ilitary, to them you have no private info as long as you signed on the dotted line and joined that part of the goverment. they won't give the info they got to anyone else, and things should go fine.

When i went into the Army they didn't check anything my contacts or past employers if anything the Army only gathers that information in case you decide to go AWOL they know exactly where to find you if you go into hiding. As for your father finding out make sure you tell him before he founds out another way parents always hate being the last to know anything.

There is no time for that process, unless a recruit has committed a felony, or needs a background investigation for a security clearance; however, if a recruit screws-up when he or she is in the military, and the military branch needs background information, they will contact everyone; especially, the recruiter.

They will, if you will need a security clerance.
But by then, you will already be in Basic or at AIT.
They won't before you enlist.

You are truly a fool, and no the army does not care anything about you except that you are fit enough to pull a trigger and take orders without question! It's been nice knowing you, short but sweet.

Yes. How far back and how intensive their survey depends on the security clearance that you will be needing for your job.

They are only contacted if you are trying to get a Security Clearance...and the FBI is the one who does the contacting...if not, they will not contact them...the only thing they do get is your police record...
