I am a Christian and I would walk out of any church that taught such a foolish doctrine. Luke, one of the disciples who was thought worthy to write one of the four Gospels, was a physician. Peter was also married, but that is another subject. The ministers I have been blessed to know are totally supportive of any medical help that is available. I would love for researchers to find a cure for cancer, and none of this has anything to do with abortion. Try readily available birth control, rather than abortion. Most are not performed to save a mother's life, get rid of a "product" of rape or incest" they are simply convenient for women too lazy to take responsibility for avoiding unwanted pregnacies.

this comparison isn't apples to apples so to speak. Abortion is the willful killing of children because they are inconvienient for the parents. (Except in cases of the mother being endangered because of the pregnancy) no one willfully chooses to get cancer it just happens..to find a cure would be great! pregnancy isn't a disease or some sick terminal illness...it's a baby, a human life. cancer is a sick, terminal disease that kills without bias. anyone who justifies abortion to send babies to jesus faster is nuts! and should be ignored if they are teaching.

It means you shouldn't go off and kill. I am for finding a cure for cancer and all of the other bad diseases out there. God gives us a brain, It's up to us to use it. I don't support abortion either. Children are a blessing. If you end up pregnant, then put the baby up for adoption and give it a chance at life.

Life is precious to God so of course we should be wanting a cure for cancer etc. Abortion is the willfull taking of a life as in God's eyes it's a life as soon as it's conceived (no matter what fancy name people give it, cell clusters foetus, embryo etc) Cancer & other diseases bring suffering too so any Christian would want to find a cure for them.

Two different issues here. First of all, I do not support abortion for any reason- granted the babies do go to heaven, if it is not up to humans when that should happen. I do support research for cancer, and other diseases- God does determine when it is time for a person to die, however He can use drs. and researchers for His purpose.

God is not against medical treatment and a mature follower of Christ knows the balance between faith and foolishness. We only can only override reason and logic when we know He is leading us to do so. This knowing is true faith. All else is presumption, ignorance and immaturity and can only result in failure.
The abortion question is silly. Is it ever right to murder the innocent and defenseless? Their arriving to Heaven has nothing to do with determining if our actions as adults are right or wrong!

I am NOT against finding a cure for cancer. If God allows someone to decode things and get that cure, a lot of suffering will be allayed.
I am not in favor of aborting babies. They could have a good life ahead of them, if they were allowed to live.

I'm for finding a cure for cancer, but not for ending a person's life before they've had a chance to live it

I am totally for finding a cure for cancer. God doesn't want people to die from cancer, much less have it. but if you are not a Christian, then you won't understand.
