True. Atheist means you don't believe in deities, not that you don't belong to a particular denomination. Belonging to a club does not equate to beliefs.

It absolutely does not mean you are an atheist. That's a simplistic view.
Do you actively believe there is not a God? Then you are an atheist.
Are you unsure about whether or not there is God, and are not currently following any path? Then you are an agnostic.
Do you just not care that much? That's how I feel, and when people ask me what I am, I answer, "Indifferent."
People feel so much more comfortable with you when they can put a label to you, because they feel like they have some understanding of what your motivations are. But DON'T let people tell you what you are. You've got to make up your own mind about that, even if it is just to say, "Sheddup, I'm indifferent so shove off."

Um... I agree with you? There are lots of religions out there besides Christianity. The choice isn't only between atheism and Christianity.

There are lots of other options.
Two kind of catch-all groups are the deists and the spiritualists.
The labels are just shorthand so that you do not have to explain the basis of your belief (or non belief) If they do not fit you, do not use them.

Same with me. I don't call myself a Christian either, but I believe in a God, in my own God.

You can choose to believe anything you want- that is freewill. But can I ask you something- you are not saying what you believe. What is your belief?- even atheists believe that there is no God.

You have the right to call yourself anything you want. You can call yourself "Jeb" if that makes you happy, it's what you believe in that makes you what you are.

Not at all, unless you don't believe in any higher power. Some people choose to remain undefined.

Atheism is entirely different from agnosticism.
(Psalm 10:4) The wicked one according to his superciliousness makes no search; All his ideas are: “There is no God.”
(Psalm 14:1) The senseless one has said in his heart: “There is no Jehovah.”
(Psalm 53:1) The senseless one has said in his heart: “There is no Jehovah.”

it means you want to make it harder on us. it's just soo much easier to say "I'm a theist", I'm a deist", "I'm an atheist" etc
even Agnosticism vs agnosticism is better than nothing....
