Absolutely, if you feel you are not up to entertaining company. Just a simple explanation of ... I'd love to see you but since it is around my due date, I would not be a good hostess.
On the other hand, if they offered to get a motel room, show up no earlier than 11 a.m., leave by 4 p.m. and cook while you rest on the sofa... :-)

Of course it is!
If you wouldn't object to seeing them though, you might want to suggest some nice hotels (make sure they're within your guest's price range...nothing tackier than recommending a hotel that the guests can't afford) they could stay in. Also, if you anticipate that they might want to share a meal, offer to go out to dinner. No reason you should be cooking if you're close to due date!
If you want no visitors at all around this time, thank them for wanting to visit you but explain it's too stressful right now. Tell them you'd be happy to see them in a couple months after your baby is born and you're all settled. Then they can see the baby too!
Congratulations on your baby!

It's perfectly fine!! I've already been telling people that i won't accept visitors at the house until 3 weeks after the baby comes home.

Its rude of someone to even ask to do such a thing. You shoudl telll them if they insist on coming around your due sate that not only shoudl they fine a hotel to stay in but also make sure they have pplans because it's too unprediable for you to say you can entertain them

Absolutely it's fine. Give the "excuse" of you're not feeling up to having company, or you're too exhausted to be good company to them....
I don't know anyone who would be offended by that - unless they've never been around a pregnant person.

Absolutely. That is completely rude of them to think they could come visit around your due date.

Yes, absolutely. They should understand perfectly. You will be exhausted and not exactly looking your best, I remember the last thing I wanted was extra people around me fussing.
