My 13 month old son has had some seasonal allergies. ( we live in kansas and between the wheat dust and rain everyone seems to have them) Anyway, yesterday he woke up and his eye was a little matted and today his nose is running and now has a low grade fever. He is not pulling or tugging on his ears, so I don't think they are an issue. Does a fever occur with allergies? We have been in the pool quite a bit, so wondering if perhaps just a cold.

You can get flushed and warm with allergies but you generally do not get a fever. I would have this checked out by a doctor to confirm whether your son has an infection, allergy, or the dust is just irritating him. The treatments would be different depending on cause.

I am a severe allergy sufferer and there have been many times I have gotten a fever and aches due to my allergies. Since he is so young, I would still take him to the doctor just to be sure. Good luck!

I've had fevers with really bad allergies before. I'd still recommend seeing a pediatrician though for anyone under 3 with a fever, however.

No fever does not coincide with allergies. Its a virus of some kind, yes a cold would be likely. Best of luck.

Most times, a fever does not go with allergies. If his eye gets worse, I would suspect pinkeye. I have run a fever twice with allergies, one time after a bee sting and another time with poison ivy.

It could be a cold - but I have gotten a fever with my allergies once my body just gives up to them. It happens about 2X a year where the pollens are just so overwhelming that it just overpowers my immune system.

You do not usually get fever with allergies, so it could well be an infection of some sort.
