I would just say to them, "I'd prefer to keep religion and politics out of the workplace" even if they aren't talking directly to you. I'd also remind them that they have a job to do and don't have time to sit around yapping about their personal lives and beliefs.

The Jews have an interesting perspective, whether you are religious or an atheist -- simply put, if god lived on Earth, all his windows would be broken. It is self-explanatory, and is neither a religious nor an atheistic comment. It is merely an observation.
As for those who tell you that "this country was founded on Christianity", simply point out that so was Northern Ireland.
You do not have to disagree with these people, or argue with them, to get your point across.

I am the type of person that speaks about my faith at work so I understand to a certain degree where these people are coming from.
BUT at the same time if someone approached me and told me that I made them feel uncomfortable I would stop speaking to them specifically about such matters.
I think that issues which are important to people are expressed regardless of the situation but they should be respectful of their surrounding and others.
If it makes you feel uncomfortable then you should say something. Don't be rude or mean about it but just let them know how you feel. If they are "god like" as they claim to be they will respect your feelings without taking it as a rejection to their faith.

Well MI Athiest, that sounds to me like they're exercising their right to free speech and that's one of the things that makes this country great.
Atheist like you aren't forced to believe and Christians have the right to speak their beliefs. Why you don't speak up about your own beliefs I don't know.
I do know however that we are very forrtunate in this country, that no matter how much it irritates you what someone else does that is not breaking any laws, you don't have the right to DO ANYTHING about it.
Why don't you try contacting the ACLU? I believe their all athiests too.
In the meantime, I'm adding you to my prayer list because you need Jesus like I need the air that I breathe.
Signed,
Christian in Georgia

Get use to it. The weather is weird. The earth quakes. The oceans roar. And those of us who know our Lord plan on seeing giant hail weighing 100 lbs falling on the earth. We also may see fire and brimstone raining down from the sky.
This Christian nation is forgetting their God. The Bible warns that men's hearts will fail them for the things which are coming upon the earth. Take time out of your educated ignorance of atheism and read the Bible. You have ears to hear but you cannot hear. You have eyes to see, but you cannot see.

My co-worker, who is near-fundie and the ONLY christian at my work, swears I'm going to hell because I listen to Howard Stern on the drive in to work. The other day, we were touring a hotel for when guests come to town (about 8 times per year). She admitted the first thing she does in a hotel room is "look for porn" under the mattress. I said "oh what a good christian. You look for porn, and the first thing I do is look to see if there's a gideon bible in the drawer". She got so mad at me. lol

If they have non discrimination policies then YOU should file a complaint. I would do it in a heartbeat. These views have no business in the workplace. I wonder how Jews, Muslims or unicornists at your job must feel. You have as much right as they do to complain.

I agree with every statement that you attribute to them. As Christians we don't leave our faith at home nor should we. We are called to bring the Gospel to all corners of the earth. That includes the workplace. If you don't like the conversation no one is forcing you to join it. You don't necessarily have to right to not hear things you disagree with. We have freedom of speech and religion in this country. Not freedom FROM religion and speech we don't like.

first thing i would like to share my knowledge that religion cannot save anybody but it is their relationship to God that will save us, for believers like us , we believed that everything happening into our life has a purpose and not just by co-incidence or by accident, and for u to be surrounded by them is saying something very important that will change your life for the best, i do not disagree / agree on what they say and i can feel that you are already annoyed, but it is very interesting for u to know what is it all about, and by reading the BIBLE u can find all the answers to your questions, love, anger, happiness, and that is the best, most exciting, thrilling book that u can ever read.

I think that people like this can make the workplace uncomfortable. They need to keep their religious opinions at home.
