Until you have credit history your score is 0. Once you start using and building credit your score will start to adjust from there. Scores will range from 300-850, but almost no one ever gets as low as 300. You actually have to work at it to get your score that low with years of horrible credit managment. After your first year of having credit you will probably be in the 600s as long as you have paid all bills on time. After a few years of good credit management you can get up over 700 and so on and so forth.

All credit scores start out as 0.
Reportable scores run from 300 to 850 anything that drops below 300 converts to a 0.
Credit scores are not issued, they are earned by getting credit and repaying as agreed.
As far as age, it starts when you turn 18.
It take years to establish a great credit score and profile and only a couple of months to trash it.

-Your score doesn't exactly "start out" at any number in particualr. Each bureau has their own scoring scale, so there is nothing universal about a 'starting point', per se.
-Your first credit score is usually issued at least 6 months after you open your first line of credit. Bear in mind that the creditor must report to acredit bureau in order for them to generate a score.

Yes, all agencies have their own scoring procedure. Keep in mind however, that the more you have your scored checked out or reported, it does lose some points-nothing major, but it will. Your first credit score comes after you pay or don't pay your first bill or loan.
