to everybody that says no you dont have a choice, i respond with, so much for free will. if your god truly loved you he would allow you to make your own choice if you want to live forever. but no apparently he cant even give you that.

Do you honestly want to cease to exist just stop being? Heaven is peaceful and for lack of a better word awesome, and since heavenly father and Jesus are so compassionate they give us the oppurtunity to live with them again and be happy for eternity, Hell is reserved for the worst people you have to be pretty dang bad to go there but if you do get sent to Hell you'll wish you ceased to exist. Can't explain why you don't cease to exist though. I'd much Rather go to heaven.

You do have an option, the decision is yours, God prepared a way for you to have that option. You can Act stupid if you like, and say, why can't I just cease to exist, well, your not going to get out of it that easy. My peace I give unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. John 14:27
Sorry, I had to be so blunt.

Energy does not cease to exist. Even scientists admit that energy can be neither created nor destroyed. Your identity is pure spirit soul, even though you currently wear a body. The life within the body is your real identity, and that identity is pure energy.
In this sense, you are related to all other existing energy, just as sparks from a great fire are qualitatively the same as fire, but are not the fire itself. God is the source of all existing energy, so God is the fire itself. When does a flame extinguish a spark?
In Bhagavad-Gita, God explains, "Never was there a time when you did not exist, nor I, nor all these kings".
If we consider proximity to God the definition of heaven and hell, then they make more sense. We are suffering hellish conditions here, due to our forgetfulness of God, and our position as servant of God. We want to serve ourselves, and so God has given us this material world, which is full of misery and suffering. When we realize that we cannot be happy here, we remember God, and our condition becomes heavenly. When we leave our body, we can also leave the material world, unencumbered by these bodies which are prone to birth, death, disease, and old age. It is our choice.

You do have the option of deciding whether or not to go to hell. If you don't accept Christ as your Lord and Savior, that is where you will go. THIS IS NOT RECOMMENDED! Hell is not as cool as this corrupt world makes it seem. The truth of hell is that you are eternally separated - both from God and everyone else. You are endlessly tortured. Your screams will go unanswered. No one will come to your aid or bust you out.
To go to heaven, you must accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. He died to cover all of your sin and give you eternal life. On the day of Judgement, you will be able to stand forgiven before God. You will also be able to enjoy an eternity of reunion with family and friends you haven't seen in a long time.
What would be the point of life if you were to cease to exist? That would be like taking a test and not being able to celebrate (or suffer punishment) after it.
If I have stirred you in anyway, please email me! I'd be happy to continue this discussion with you.

becuz its not for u to decide ur fate. It's God's, He decided for to be born, so u can't really "cease to exist." its kinda too late, since ur like, here asking questions. the only options u have are 1.) being with God for eternity in Heaven, or 2.) going to Hell. from the looks of whats on ur head in ur avatar, u'd probably prefer the latter

You don't have that option because God says that's not what happens. According to him we were created to live forever. I suppose you could ask him.
The choice is really between spending eternity with God or spending eternity apart from God. Everything good and wonderful that we have in this world comes from God. Eternity with God will be with all the best of this world and even better. Eternity apart from God will be "hell" because God's presence and all that comes from him will not be there. What will be left? Darkness, despair, decay, disease, deceit, oppression, hatred, malice, and all that is rotten and foul. We were not created for "living" like this; that's why it is a place of torment and anguish.
It's incredibly important that we choose wisely.
Blessings.

Because a person is either a sinner or a saint. Saints go to heaven sinners go to hell.
No person can serve God with the nature that they are born with. They need their nature radically executed by God, and His Holy Spirit infused by Him into the person.
This is what the Bible says. It is either heaven or hell. No Purgatory or any place else. We have only this life time to prepare for heaven. Otherwise we end up in hell.

Not to worry. The body and the ego-mind will cease to exist after death.
Is there something else that goes on?
It is for each to find out before death.

Your body will cease to exist. But it is your soul that is the prize. God created you with a free will, It is your decision what to do with it. accepting Christ as your savior is a step of faith in the right direction. But doing nothing, satin has won.

You have two options in life, live or die. You don't get a third option. Heaven and hell are the same. Live with God (Heaven) or away from Him (hell). There is no in between.
