Are you asking about "translations?" I like to study the Bible in several different translations, but for simple reading I prefer the New International Version or the New King James. The Message is great for a general overview of a passage.

A parallel Bible is handy because it shows 3 or 4 translations side by side so that you can see how a translation affects the meaning of a passage. I would choose one that has the New King James, the Amplified Version, and the New International Version.

The New World Translation is about the purest, most truthful Bible that you can read. It does not contain spurious comments and scriptures that were not part of the original writings of the Bible by its early writers.

Down thru history mankind like as in the Giddeon, King James, etc., Bible writers have taken out Jehovah's name over 7,000 times, and these type Bibles contain over 20,000 errors.

You can obtain a free New World Translation Bible from your local kingdom hall or by going to http://www.watchtower.org and clicking on "contact us". Someone will contact you from your area to share a free Bible with you and if you wish to help you to attain accurate knowledge from the Bible.

It means your life to have accurate knowledge instead of what is false. Bless you.

Something in modern English is easier. I love Shakespeare, but I have a problem understanding some of the wording in the King James. My 1st choice is the New World Translation.
It's in modern English and they did years of research and went back to the oldest manuscripts when translating.

The King James version is the most accurate. Just ask for some help on the stuff you don't get or join a bible study. You will get lots of information this way!

I have an NKJV study Bible. . .which really helps when I am digging into the Word and studying something specific. One of the best things to do to understand what you are reading is to ask yourself 1. Who is the writer of the book you are studying 2. When was it written 3. Who was it written to. The Holy Spirit is the best thing when you are reading God's Word.

Authorized King James Version is what I recommend to my friends because it is translated out of the original tongues... But some choose The New International Version because it is easy to understand. Just beware of para-phrases.
