are they still considered an atheist? I just formed a relationship with my personal version of god. I call it "The Great Ideal", but it has also known to man (translated into English) as "Reason" and "Reality" since the dawn of time. It IS all knowing, and all powerful, simply because it is all things. It isn't all loving though. Reality can be harsh.

It states that all of creation came about through means that are perfectly understandable through advancing scientific inquiry, and that human life is an experience meant to be enjoyed to the fullest without adversely impacting the lives of others. It will reveal more in the future. It's working through me and many others to end all religions, especially the ones that claim it has ever told anyone to kill anyone because of beliefs.

So my question is, since I have a personal god, but don't believe it can be personified, amI still considered a godless Atheist?

Don't bother with threats of damnation, my god says that isn't true.

I think I'm one of the few who read this and actually understood it. I like it, reality is certainly a better "god" than what the religious have.

It's also similar to the Einstein "god" where he used the word to mean the natural wonder of the universe and not any kind of personal god.

Yes, you are still an atheist in my books. The only mistake you've made is referring to what you believe in as a god. reality and reason is not a god, it is the opposite of a god. It's the same thing as Atheists who feel they are their own god. So don't worry, you're still in the club:)

Some of these lake of fire believers really get under my skin. I mean how can you believe that thinking is evil? If there were a god, why would he give us a perfectly intelligent brain and then ask us to not use it, and just believe in a book which was written by mortals word for word, without questioning? AND waste your whole life preparing for an afterlife which was only made up by the powerful as a means to control society??!!

As a Christian myself, I do agree with you, to a certain extent. Why? Plainly, it is a "calling" - an election performed by God the Father, Himself, to bring only those HE selects to Christ (see: John, chapter 6, verse 44) . God has to start somewhere, and the followers now, are called "Christ - ians" . They are the disciples [learners] who are the "called out ones" NOW (like those leading the parade, you might say). The Apostle Paul, referenced the real reason (from a Godly perspective) WHY, Atheists are non-believers (no fault of their own) . This can be found in both, Romans, Chapter 11, verse 8 and also, in First Corinthians, chapter 2, verses 10 -14). Ultimately, though, all non-believers will have their opportunity in their turn and time. As you have pointed out the "evidence factor" rightfully so, regarding a non-believers perspective. As with all non believers, they "walk in sight" (with seeing through their physical senses) - very acceptable and reasonable. Christians, on the other hand, "walk in faith" (they do not solely lean to their physical senses). This is why there are so many disagreements and misunderstandings between the two factions of believers and non believers (and it will always be this way until we are all "on the same page"). Remember; it is a PROCESS being conducted, out here, on earth with us humans - all of us - whether we are cognisant of it or not. It is not a matter of "intelligence" but a matter of ones "calling" to Christ. Theists are composed of many people from various professions and non professions of life. Some are Scientists, Lawyers, Doctors [MDs], Engineers, and even, your everyday, restaurant worker. All are one in the body of Christ [Christian].

Thou heretic!!! Everyone knows we should all be worshipping the Merck Manual of Diagnosis and Therapy! Thus it is commanded by the Zomarians - thou shalt go out and read all about the different medical specialties in the Reader's Digest of Medicine, "The Merck Manual of Diagnosis and Therapy", whatever the latest edition is. Also, any related publications, such as Harrison's Principles of Internal Medicine. Followers of the Flying Spaghetti Monster and the Invisible Pink Unicorn are welcome! Heaven's Gate cultists are welcome (but please skip the castration part - we need low male voices for the choir)! The Merck! The Merck! Thou shalt honor The Merck!!!

P.S. Hey buddy... got any bandwidth? ;)

If you have a belief in god, whatever you call it; you are not an atheist. As far as creating a religion: you have only a theory and philosophy.

The sad truth is you will spend the rest of your days redefining your faith and will never have true peace. That is the result of all man made attempts to fill his God-shaped void. Good luck!

Atheists would not be good at creating a god any kind of because they do not believe in that stuff.

Jesus is God who has the power of carrying out the promises He gives. He has been here, He did what He came to do, and He will keep His promises.

People, with any faiths can make up a "god", the most popular would be the kind that does not have any demands, I guess. However, I am more interested in the truth even if it consists something I do not necessarily like or understand.

I too believe in your God. He's great isn't he? The great thing about our god is he will let you say you are an atheist or not. He really doesn't mind. He's cool like that.

Self-determination is the oldest religion of all. Satan chose it and has been promoting it ever since. I'm sure it gets quite a chuckle out of your "clever" thinking.

A "god" you create can never be "God" by definition. The God of the universe is God over all and was not created. Also by definition, people who believe in "gods" aren't Atheists, but then again you don't truly believe since you recognize that this "god" is of your own making.

I think you can safely say that you are your own "god." Those who worship their own selves and intellect are quite correct to call themselves "Atheists."

Blessings.

Why would an atheist create another false God .
If Their is a God he will show up and everyone will know about it .
Since this has never happened it probably will not happen .

If you say you believe in a god (in any form) you are not an atheist. The definition is pretty simple and very black and white.
