Why not treat yourself to some sugar-free ice cream. You could even make your own.

ZIPLOC ICE CREAM

1 tablespoon artificial sweetener
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup Heavy Cream
6 tablespoons Table Salt (or rock/coarse salt if you have it)
3 cups Ice
1 Sandwich Sized Ziploc Bag
1 Gallon Sized Ziploc Bag

How To Prepare:

In the sandwich sized ziploc, combine the sugar substitute, vanilla
extract and heavy cream. Seal the bag and shake lightly to mix ingredients.

In the bigger ziploc bag, add 3 cups of ice (or fill
half the bag with ice)and add 6 tablespoons of salt.

Place the seal sandwich sized bag into the gallon
bag and seal the gallon bag. Shake the entire contents for at least 4 minutes (shake longer for harder ice cream).

Once desired hardness has been achieved, remove smaller baggies and rinse throughly with cold water (if you miss this step, you may wind up with salty ice cream!)

Recipe makes about a 1/2 cup of ice cream.

It's a lot of cream, so it's still a treat! You don't want to be eating this everyday, this much cream is 411 calories, that's alot, but it would go well with your berries for a treat!

The Atkins diet is NOT a good diet. Eating meats and cheeses and cutting back on carbs deprives you of anti-oxidants and does not reduce fat intake. You'll lose weight, but much of it will be water weight, and you will pay a price for it. The guy who invented it even died from a heart attack for pete's sake! You'll lose 10 pounds by August just as easily by following a traditional diet and getting more exercise, and you'll keep it off. Play it smart, and that bowl of ice cream once a week won't even hurt. I would discuss this with your doctor to get on the right track. Good luck!

I recommend you deliver South Beach Diet a check out. The first 2 weeks of the Atkins and South Beach are the identical. They each preclude carbs for the duration of Phase One. The South Beach Diet limits the volume of carbs you'll be able to have identical to Atkins however encourages more fit offerings of proteins after which lets you progressively convey the carbs again into your nutrition as you get toward your target. It additionally is helping you to determine which carbs are those that deliver you predicament.

But the answer to your question it depends what phase your in the diet you can get some organic ice cream that may be better than other brands

Honestly, with any diet it is ok to treat yourself. In fact, it prevents burn out. With Atkins if you are really bad(meaning eat a lot of sugars) it primarily prevents weight loss but does not mean you gain weight. So, you in your case, if ice cream is your thing, you should look for alternatives. I love ice cream personally and always look for a way not to give it up. Breyer's make excellent carb select ice cream, ice cream bars, etc... But a lot of brands make good low sugar, no sugar added stuff and they are good options too. Just hang in there, you can do it! Also, the Breyer's carb select chocolate ice cream is my favorite, my roomate's favorite is the rocky road but it is harder to find. The strawberry is really yummy, kind of tastes like cotton candy. Also, i like the breyer's carb select ice creams because they are soft :) hope this helps.

For me, no matter what diet I am on, I do treat myself now and again. If I crave something, like ice cream, I indulge. I only buy a pint, so I can't go overboard. I find if I try to ignore the cravings they get worse and then I binge just like you. Indulge with discipline.

...=/ mmm, that's gonna be hard because when you first go on it you can't have any carbs at all for phase one...how about soy ice-cream? and not this might help but I'm on a low-carb diet and when I first went on it and did what it told me today, I lost the taste for carbs and high sweet foods, it has to do with flushing out your system I think, so maybe just try and stick with it and then if you really do feel you need to have a treat then go for it i guess

no way. you're cheating yourself becuase every time you eat carbs/sugar, you have to start over to get back into ketosis. that's cutting yourself off at the knees.
