None, or at least virtually none.
World hunger is not simply a function of available funds. If I did not waste food but managed to get it to those who needed it, if I stopped buy material at cut-throat prices which were obtained by exploitation of the disadvantaged of the third world, if I stopped polluting the world which effects the third world more than it does my world then maybe I could do something about the starving people of Africa. Africans cannot eat jewelery or money, only food, but we don't want them to destroy the rain forest to grow food, we want them to save the rainforest to produce oxygen to counter the effects of me driving when I could be walking.

Oh,silly, those people don't need food, they need the prayers of Christians... that's what will save them. How often have you heard Christians say they will pray for someone rather than give them actual, tangible help? That way they don't have to get their hands dirty or consort with those who aren't as good as they are. My Pagan husband is on a local interfaith hunger task force. Conspicuous in their absence of involvement are the fundies. The only ones on the task force are Catholics, Jews, Methodists, and Episcopalians. Shows who's really concerned about actually helping his fellow man and who just wants to ***** and tell us all we're going to hell.

The best thing the Pope could do for Africa would be to stop campaigning against contraception.

If the whole RC church, or any church sold their land holdings, etc, etc, etc, they could take care of hunger forever. However, that is not their game, they want to make more money.

let's assume everyone could have one good meal.
what purpose would that serve?
better that they learn how to take care of themselves, and perhaps understand that if they can't support children they shouldn't have any.
