Okay. So Jesus was a Jew. So why wouldn't that be the right religion? If Jesus was it himself and he's perfect, why wouldn't everyone just be Jewish? but the other thing is, why do some people want to be Jewish? I mean, they killed Jesus. Somebody please explain it to me!

and sorry if i offended any jewish people -- i'm not trying to, i'm just trying to figure this out. :)

History lesson, reader's digest style:
God chose the Jewish people (children of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob) to be his people. They had a covenant relationship, much like a husband and wife.
They broke that covenant individually and as a nation.
Jesus was born into that nation in human form, as a son of King David.
When Jesus was declared as their Messiah as prophecied for centuries, the nation as a whole rejected him.
Note at the moment Jesus died, the Temple in Jerusalem had the divider between the Holy and the Most Holy (Jewish teachings from Moses' time was the division between people and God, as only once a year could the High Priest enter the Most Holy on behalf of the nation) was "rent in two" meaning that the relationship was there by severed between God and the Jewish Nation as a whole.

Jesus fulfilled the Mosaic Laws, all 600+ of them. By his death he provided the way for all people, Jews and Gentiles, to have a personal relationship with God.

Hope this answers at least some of your question.

Jesus was believed to be the messiah foretold who would free the Jews from their oppressors. Christianity originally was another sect of Judaism following the talmudic traditions and the teachings of Jesus as Messiah. Other jews did not accept that Jesus was the messiah though some accepted him as a prophet. After awhile Christianity became its own religion, split completely from Judaism and put together the Bible with the teaching of Jesus and his followers being the New Testament and the stories from the Talmud incorporated into the bible as the Old Testament. Christianity has since devloped its own sects (denominations) who have differing interpretations of the bible.

One could argue that the "Judaism" as defined by the rabbis is not the "Judaism" of Jesus.

That was one of the reasons that Jesus got killed; he argued with the people in power over what the correct interpretation of the Laws of Moses was, and what made someone a good "Jew".

If you are a Christan, then Christianity IS Judaism, and there is no other "Judaism" out there (I.E.: what people call Judaism is a false religion).

On the other hand, if you are Jewish, you think that Christianity is a corruption of the true Judaism.

Well you got part of it wrong.

GOD killed Jesus.

It was fixed in stone.

God was pulling the strings on that one, with intent.

And when you get to heaven you will find Jesus and his disciples having a good, Jewish, Seder dinner in his father's house.

Too bad most Christians won't know what to do or how to deal with it.

Jesus (a Hebrew above all Hebrews) was to BECOME "the head stone of the corner" (Ps.118:22 below), "the chief corner stone" (Eph.2:20, Deut.32:4 below), of His living body, the church of God (1 Cor.10:32, Col.1:24 below).

It was at Jesus' baptism that Jesus BECAME "the head stone of the corner", "the chief corner stone" of the church of God. From that point Jesus began His ministry.

All who are in Jesus Christ have BECOME a “new creature” (2 Cor.5:17, Gal.6:15 below); we, in Him, have become individually, as well as collectively, His living body, the church of God.

There is neither Jew nor Greek (Gentile) in Christ Jesus, we are all one (Gal.3:28 below).

Ps.118:22 The stone (Jesus) which the builders refused IS BECOME the head stone of the corner (Eph.2:20 below).

Eph.2:20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone (Ps.118:22 above):

Deut.32:4 He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he.

1 Cor.10:32 Give none offence, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God.

Col.1:24 Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up that which is behind of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for his body’s sake, which is the church:

2 Cor.5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he IS a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new (Gal.6:15 below).

Gal.6:15 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature (2 Cor.5:17 above).

Gal.3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

Jesus was not a Jew.Mary's ovum had nothing to do with it.That myth is part of the "Jews as chosen people" nonsense.Galatians and Hebrews make it exceedingly clear that Believers/Christians are the "chosen people".

Technically no "religion" is correct. Christianity is not so much a religion as a lifestyle or relationship. God never intended for us to have "religion".
